Which of the two is the best type of anime/manga and why?

Depends on the budget, or reason for watching. Most Hentai have shitty budgets and repetitive animation.

If you're there just to laugh at it though, English dubbed Hentai >>>> All.

From an art perspective, ecchi is more appealing visually than hentai, since hentai generally consists of unrealistic proportions (big tiddies) and chix with dix.

Hentai overdo it (women with monstrous proportions and cum splattered everywhere).
Ecchi get in our nerves with the ''will they, won't they'' shit.
Why can't they just find balance?

I don't think huge tiddies drawn hentai style are very attractive. I don't know why people do that.

I don't like Ecchi in general, but Hentai is much worse in terms of writing and arts. Between people wanting to spend their night with each other upon first meeting, virgins being instant experts in bed, rapists getting away with their crap 99,99 % of the time...yeah, Ecchi looks good in comparison.

Japanese should invent a new type of anime. One that neither gets gross and freaky (hentai) nor does it chicken
out (ecchi). One where the sex is not necessarily shown, but it is clearly implied in trully sensational or romantic
ways.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes (has one off screen sex scene as the trigger for the romance between two characters)
Berserk (has a lot of explicit sexual scenes, though the more character and romance driven ones aren't too explicit and were framed in a way to clearly show them as character driven rather than fanservice sleeze.)
Nana (the female protagonists have an active sex life with various men, though no such acts are ever shown and is part of the slice of life aspect of the series)
Oyaji (though the series does contain some panels that could be seen as explicit, it's obviously meant to be about the passion between the characters rather than sleeze, especially considering the characters in question were middle aged and far from ideal in looks)

Those are just a few out of those I've seen (except Nana, haven't seen it, but heard such about it).
