I saw this pointed-out before already and it is very, very, VERY interesting. When Vegeta & co. fight the cyborgs, #17 is choking-out Tenshinhan & Vegeta comes to his aid. At this point Vegeta considered himself still pure evil & didn’t even try to save Trunks & Bulma. Why did he do this, if he really still was evil? I’ve heard it being said that maybe he just saw an opening but I don’t know. He even scolds Tenshinhan by I think call calling him “fool” or something.

What do you say?

When was it? Just after the androids left the safety of Gero's Gate (why did they hide from Buu on the lookout and rosat and not in here)?

I think Vegeta just wanted an admirer (Tien) and didn't want to listen to Krillin and Yamcha cry about Tien. Can't make Tien feel like a schmuck if Tien is dead.

He didn't save Bloomer and Speedo-kun because Gero wanted Vegeta to do it, and Vegeta was being a contrarian by not saving them. If Gero hadn't been like "I bet you care about them!" he would've saved them? Like if 17 had attacked Bulma and Trunks at random he would have. Idk tho, who knows.

Or he found Bulma and Trunks really annoying. He was just neutral about Tien. He actually had to live with Bulma and Trunks.

Perhaps it was just a knee jerk reaction to help a teammate rather than an intentful act done out of concern for Tenshinhan specifically. He was flustered from being beat down and taunted by 18 so I think it’s plausible he just helped out of instinct considering the Cyborgs were their common enemy.
