Fat Boo vs. Goku was a lot closer than most people think

Fat Boo also bounced back a blast from Goku anyway.

Goku never shrugs of a punch from Boo after the latter starts using more power, not even once. Goku deflecting a Kamehameha from Boo doesn't mean much, because Boo could do the same thing to Goku's KKH.

The fight shows Boo stalemating and equaling every punch from Goku, not to mention Goku is legitimately worried about Boo's attacks this time around, whereas he was smiling when he shrugged off that punch earlier in the fight.

He only takes one punch in the next chapter. The entire fight boils down to a punch from buu, a punch from goku and two chi blasts in that whole chapter. As I said, he's only worried because the blast wrecked the planet. The fight is extremely short and can't tell us anything really.

Buu is never shown to be able to bat any of goku's blasts away so there's no real evidence that he could.

I'll admit, in all the years I've read the manga, I never noticed that fat buu was supposed to bat the blast away after goku did.

Not sure how I missed that, forever.

"Boo Begins to Show his True Worth" the underlined portion tells us that Boo was still in process of showing his full power. As the fight went on, Boo began to show more and more power. At first, both Goku and Boo undergo a stalemate, until Boo slowly lets on more of his power against the Saiyan - nearing the end of the fight, Goku actually almost panicks a little.

Our interpretations are quite a bit different, so i suggest we should just rock with them, since there are several evidences for both interpretations.

Not quite. The "begins to show his true power" doesn`t have to mean Fat Boo never did that in the fight. See, the "begin to show his true power" was also described in Herms translations when Piccolo Daimao had powered up to full and was about to attack Goku:

Chapter: 156, P13.1-5
Context: as Piccolo begins to use his full power

Tenshinhan: “A-an absolutely incredible ki!”
Piccolo: “Haah…Are you ready?”
Goku: “That’s my line. Now I can beat you up with all I’ve got”
Piccolo: “So you’re saying you weren’t using your full power either? Don’t spew such nonsense”
Goku: “You wanna try me?”

In the fight against Goku, Piccolo Daimao was slowly letting on more of his power against Goku, like Fat Boo was, until he hit his full power. The difference is, Goku's fight with Boo didn't last long enough for the latter to engage in an all-out conflict with the former.

Anyway, as long as you don't have a ridiculous gap between them, it's fine. A 10% gap can work just fine, but i have it a little shorter, because as i said above, i think Fat Boo didn't use his full power when he battled Goku(neither did the Saiyan)

The fight shows us both were just toying to each other so we can't estimate their gap like that after all, we all know that Goku is stronger than Boo that's all.

Don't feel like reading these posts, but I've always been on board with this. People who think Boo was like half of Goku are out of their mind.

And Boo, in turn, deflected a blast from Goku. I guess Fat Boo(Suppressed)>>SSJ3 Goku(Suppressed) then?
Deflecting a blast doesn't mean the gap is big at all.

The one who fought Fat Boo. Piccolo stated that wasn't Goku's full-power.

Where's the statement?

Chapter: 476 (DBZ 282), P10.5-8
Piccolo: “Goku…There’s something I want to ask you while I’ve got the chance…[ ] …That Super Saiyan 3 thing earlier…if you had gone all-out, wouldn’t you have been able to defeat Majin Boo?...How about it, am I wrong?”

Not using full effort is not the same as suppressing your power. Goku never tried to kill Boo.
