Yeah I saw this on F but no one was posting over there so I assumed no one cared too much. Hopefully Funimation does what they did with their airing of GT and summarizes the first 20 or so episodes. I don't know if I can watch the BoG or RF arcs again.

At least now I won't have to listen to the goofy fucking Japanese voice acting and read subs while also trying to watch the damn show. Subs are always distracting as fuck for me.

Plus, Chris and Sean are the best. Nobody comes close.

Sean and Chris have gotten a hell of a lot better at their roles, I still think Ryo will always be my favorite though. I might be able to stomach the RF arc if Chris Ayres continues to do a great job as Freeza.

Also, Funi is subbing Super as well? I wonder if their subs will be superior to Crunchyroll's or not?

Original Cast > FUNimation, in my opinion. Have some respect, meng (plz).

I find reading subs a problem with series that have long, convoluted dialogue. No problem with this.

Why should I respect a cast that I think sounds goofy? No love for Japanese VAs at all. Funimation is my shit.

I love the original VAs and a lot of Funi's cast now as well. During the original dub? Not so much, they weren't very good honestly and the dialogue was terrible.

Just because they did the show doesn't mean they deserve my respect. I respect VAs that do a good job in my opinion. I respect Chris Sabat because he voices like more than half the cast and does a good job with everyone. The first Funi dub wasn't great (I'd say it improved around Boo) but Kai and the new movies had fantastic dubs and I don't think any crew could compare. Not the originals, not Ocean, not Big Green, nobody (except maybe Malaysian) :elmo

The original is great.

Vegeta's voice especially in the original is much more like Vegeta than the dub. I can also take him a million times more seriously for some reason.

I think it's just some fans find it hard to find it good, because in wherever they are from the voice-acting is done differently.

You might not like them but I don't like people disrespecting them, though. Some of those YouTube comments are face-palm worthy.

I don't think the Japanese voices were that goofy, aside from Nozawa's overly high pitched screams, the Babidi voice pre-Kai and Hiromi Tsuru's... uh, rather lackluster acting, but the original Funi VA for Bulma was way worse.

And fuck Sabat, honestly. He did a good job as Vegeta on Namek, but him voicing approximately 50% of the cast was absolute garbage on par with the faggot voices of #19, #16 and Linda Young Freeza. Especially when his main way of differentiating between characters was smoking craploads of cuban cigars (original Z Piccolo, sometimes Vegeta) and sounding like a dribbling retard (e.g. Reacoom, the evil dragons).

Despite that, I like most of Funimation's voices nowadays and the Japanese cast has gotten pretty old (as seen with old man King Kai), so I'm down for watching Funi if they start at U6 instead of going through the tired 28 episodes of movie rehashing.
