I think this might be a good way to find out Gokan.

Gokan (Potara) - Gohan = Gokan (Metamoran)

If Potara allows the stronger fighter's power to be added, then perhaps we can find some conclusive evidence.

Old Kai saying Gokohan may not need SSJ is perhaps a 50/50 chance that he's talking about Ultimate or base Gokohan. Maybe base Gokohan ~/< Buutenks with the rival boost pushing the weaker components somewhat higher to eclipse Ultimate Gokohan. If even Ultimate Gokohan is only a little stronger than Buutenks it would be very odd but maybe not impossible.

Considering base Gohan > base Goku for the Z-Sword feats that's what I'm looking right now.

Either using Vegetto & Gotenks. For Vegetto:

SSJ3 Goku x SSJ2 Vegeta = normal Vegetto
or
SSJ3 Goku + SSJ2 Vegeta x ? = normal Vegetto

For Gotenks:

SSJ Goten x 2 x ? = normal Gotenks

^This explains why the fusees need to be close in power, because other-wise in extreme scenario the fusion can end-up below one of the fusees (if Trunks was way above Goten).

What happens is that if we now go by SSJ Trunks (Pre ToP) = Future SSJ Trunks (CG). It means that Adults are >>>>> Children in Arc Boo.

Gotenks Base (Post) is much more powerful than Goku SSJ3 (Boo).

Gogeta was SSJ against Super Janemba and the latter was not much superior to Goku SSJ3 (M12). Although we know that Goku (M12) >> Goku (Arc Boo), but it is not a colossal increase, since it is most likely that in M12 Pikkon was Goku SSJ and it is most likely that Vegeta SSJ2 was more powerful than Pikkon.

I think simply, Gotenks has a very large boost and it wouldn't be strange coming from someone who can transform into SSJ2 and SSJ3 when they can only transform into SSJ.

M12 Gogeta = Boo Saga Gogeta because Goku has to suppress himself to Vegeta’s level.

Do you think this is proof that Super Janemba > Goku SSJ3 (M12) > Gotenks SSJ (Post)?

The only way to see it that way is to have a higher SSJ3 multiplier for the M12. Will it be possible?

Rival Boost only applies to Vegetto's fusion.

Initially AT didn't have such a big gap between Adults over Children in the Boo Arc. At that time, he had the same multiplier for Gogeta and Gotenks, however, in DBS they show us that Goten and Trunks were not as powerful as we believed and therefore, Gotenks' multiplier is higher than what he initially had.
