Gohan was likely referring to the quality of his Ki and not the amount, plus I doubt he'd expect his dad to have not gotten stronger anyway.

Well, Gohan couldn't believe it was his father when he sensed his SSJ3 power against fat Boo. He thought it was him at first because it obviously has a similar signature, but then discarded the idea due to such chi being too high for it to below to Goku. Doesn't it show that Gohan thinks a chi being similar in feel to Goku's but much larger means it can't possibly be the same chi as his?

I've been thinking about this, and i don't think the scenarios are really comparable. In the Boo Arc Goku's power rose within a few hours since Gohan had last seen him, whilst in the Mecha Arc Gohan hasn't seem Goku in a year or so. It's natural for Gohan to question such a drastic power in such a small amount of time. The gap between SSJ3 and SSJ2 Goku is also far bigger than the gap between SSJ Trunks and SSJ Goku, making it a more belivable increase for the Z Fighters.

It would if the anime didn't also have Trunks tanking and throwing away a Supernova from a serious Freeza.

What gap do you have between Future Trunks SSJ on a Hypothetical Freezer Mecha 100%?

Almost a 1.2x one. Could be more anime-wise, but given gaps can be inconsistent, I don't see a reason to make such a distinction.

  I do not know if Mecha Frieza uses his 100% at some point, because at one point Krillin asked with astonishment "Who is that Warrior that I finish in an instant with Freezer?", Then Tenshinhan with the same amazement said "And not only Freezer , but I also easily end up with that individual who had a powerful Ki. " Maybe that tells us that Kin Cold was> = Mecha Freezer (Suppressed against Future Trunks).
