Even if we assume Gogeta wouldn't be able to access Super Saiyan 3 the first time fusing, Boo still thought their fusion wouldn't hold a candle to him with knowledge of Goku having Super Saiyan 3.

The fusion is not linear, it depends on the individual in order to predict the fusion which is why the fusion effect of Gotenks and Gogeta would have to be different.

I don't know why people are going into absurd detail about what Boo is expecting when they can't prove it.
His word is irrelevant since he thought he was stronger than Vegito and Gogeta is confirmed to be no weaker than Vegito. He doesn't know how strong a Goku/Vegeta fusion is.

The only thing that was shown in the story is that Boo was cocky when he stated that a Goku/Vegeta fusion couldn't beat him and he was proven wrong when Vegito was formed. That's it. There was no Dance vs Potara comparison. I don't know why fans keep making this up.

The only thing he is shown to be expecting is something stronger than Goku and Vegeta but weaker than himself. He isn't expecting SSJ3 anything.

The points have been argued to death and back, so I just will say I have SSJ Vegetto >> SSJ2 Gogeta > SSJ3 Gotenks >> SSJ Gogeta, generally. While you could interpret Gogeta > Super Boo as referring to SSJ3 Gogeta, there's a possibility SSJ3 would be hard to access immediately upon fusing considering Gotenks couldn't even go SSJ at first, so SSJ2 Gogeta > Super Boo is safe to argue imo.

But why wouldn't Boohan assume the strongest possible, i.e SSJ3? Also, if Gogeta SSJ2 > Gotenks SSJ3, then the kids post RoSaT would still be nowhere close the adults?

I'd like to go with Vegetto SSJ > Gogeta SSJ3, BTW.

Not seeing how power levels for Budokai 3 are relevant.
Pyro brought it up because the statement of Gogeta ~ Vegetto was created by Jump's editorial staff, without any proven input from Toriyama just like the Budokai 3 battle power, hence why he's saying they share equal validity (or lack thereof).

The statement also has holes in it through stating that Metamoran fusion is able to bring out greater power due to being more balanced, which makes little sense. It would require a weaker fighter to supress their Ki much as Goku did in M12, whereas Potara has no such limitation. It seems that whichever Jump editor wrote this didn't have much of an in-depth knowledge of fusion.

SSJ3 Vegerot > SSJ2 Vegerot > SSJ Vegerot > Base Vegerot >= SSJ3 Gogeta > SSJ2 Gogeta > SSJ Gogeta > Base Gogeta

The only reason that the Budokai 3 power levels aren't valid is because they're for a video game, nothing more. This was published by Shueisha, so it's valid just like the Daizenshuu.

Lowering one's battle power to perform the Dance was never stated to affect the strength of the fusion, so I don't know where that came from. Synchronizing battle powers is only needed to perform the Dance. The power doesn't just disappear.

The Daizenshuu is not the one with Piccolo Daimao> Tenshinhan (BoZ)? Simply heavy source.

I used to have them as equals, then I went to having Vegito 4 times stronger than Gogeta in equal forms, now I think I'm back to them being equal.
