Gohan could potentially win this alone. It's debatable whether he needs to be that powerful or not, but Piccolo shouldn't be at a level where doubling his power would make him dramatically exceed 1st Form Freeza. Piccolo might be able to beat Gohan due to far superior skill, but Krillin makes this impossible for him.

What about Piccolo saying he gotta save the boys? Is it because he hadn't sensed their full powers yet?

I'm thinking about something like this:

Piccolo (Weighted): 250,000
~ Weights removed: 300,000

Gohan: 275,000
Kuririn: 225,000

Possibly. He also had to be reminded by Nail that he wouldn't stand a chance if he went into battle, so he could have been overestimating his prospects. It would also be out of character if he decided to run away due to being weaker than Freeza. He could be marginally weaker than Gohan and still want to save him.

Piccolo behaviour in this segment is so odd man. It was dead obvious that Freeza would've folded him like a can but Nail had to call him off on that.

It's not really odd. It would've been odd if he was arrogant and claimed he would tool Freeza, but he never once showed such confidence. He only said that he was in a hurry to save Gohan/Krillin which was true.

Piccolo is like Krillin, always going to help regardless of how he compares to the threat. He was going to interfere against Perfect Cell before Goku stopped him, and he already knew he was complete trash compared to that level. Him wanting to save the duo doesn't weigh heavily for me in regard to his strength. Nail's praise says a lot more than that.

I usually have Gohan slightly stronger than this Piccolo, with Krillin lagging a bit behind Piccolo. They're all within range of each other to give a good fight, though, so with two against one it's a loss for Big Green.

The team wins with teamwork. Gohan while not being that skilled and experienced in battle at this point, still has krillin with him. They win
