Gohan had insisted on staying on Namek?

When Goku transformed into SSJ for the first time, he said to Gohan
''leave while i still have some control over myself''. So, if Gohan had
stayed there and Goku had lost control, what would have happened?
Could Goku have hurt his son? And, if things had ended well, would
that moment have caused psychological problems to Gohan that would
have affected the following sagas?

He'd have just sit back from afar until everyone got teleported to Earth. Even if he got drawn into the battle and killed, he'd just get revived with Freeza's victims soon after, leaving nothing being changed.
I doubt it'd provide any major psychological problems or trauma to Gohan, seeing as how something as traumatic as his injuries against the Ginyus just resulted in him liking to play superhero in his teens. The most change I could see out of him is perhaps becoming more resolved in getting stronger and fighting, thereby leaving most of the walls his personality having built up not being there and likely achieving SS2 from the Rosat or before #16 needed to intervene. Still wouldn't change anything, since he'd act the same in regard to toying with Cell and things would go on as normal.

It'd have been different if he had been hurt or killed by his father.
