The only plot that Chi Chi had on Z was being just an overprotective mother. I can see Gohan learning martial artist sooner than later.

Goku would be able to train Gohan, which would in turn lead to Goku being far stronger by the time of Raditz's arrival. For my take on that scenario, mainly refer to the "What If Bulma Married Goku?" thread. The only major differences for the first two arcs would be that Yamcha isn't killed by the Saibaiman. With Yamcha not having Kaioken in this What If, Gero doesn't gain as much from him as in the other What If and the Cell Arc progresses as it would in canon. After the Cell Arc, Gohan keeps training and has a balance between education and martial arts, thus killing Dabura 7 years later and preventing Boo's revival. Beerus would still ask about Super Saiyan God though, so Goku is revived for the ritual and Super goes more or less the same, though with Gohan maybe having a little more relevance in the ToP.
