Goku Base (Final Arc Evil Dragons) vs Vegeta SSJ2 (Post SSJ4)?

They are both from the same era after all.

Who is more powerful and who would win?

My memory of the SD arc is foggy, but didn't SSJ4 Vegeta fuse with Goku who was already worn down? Goku might take this with Base.

I think Vegeta post SSJ4 was Goku's equal before the later fused with Shenlong. So Vegeta stomps.

You forget that Goku received a giant power boost before he got beat up and fused with Vegeta. He went from having his 10x Kamehameha tanked by Yi Xing Long to being questionably equal to Super Yi Xing Long (though the latter proved much stronger IIRC), giving him at least a 20x boost from the power he got from the dumb dumb kids.

Did Goku's lower forms get stronger just because he surpassed his limits with Super Saiyan 4? I'm not sure that tracks.

I don't see why not. If we are deriving Vegeta's power from where his SSJ4 stacks up against Goku, we should be able to do the same with Goku.

Well, Goku Base was able to match the power of a small Minus Energy Power Ball.

On the other hand, Vegeta (Post SSJ4) also made his lower forms get stronger.

I think I have Vegeta SSJ2 win this match.

The ambiguity of how Super Saiyan 4 works doesn't really lend itself to saying the lower forms got stronger, too, though. It doesn't have a static boost. Sure, we can say it got X times stronger when powered up, but that's not a permanent boost.

You could actually argue the lower forms got even weaker because after the first shadow dragon Goku literally doesn't use any other form but SSJ4 for the entirety of the Shadow Dragons
