I just noticed this, but the artwork in the second page -the sound effects and action lines, infer that Goku powered up to 8,000 to show his buffs but immediately dropped back down to 5,000.

Discontinuing it means that he stopped powering up, not that he randomly suppressed himself back to 5,000. He never powered up again yet he was at full power when fighting Vegeta.

One can argue that he stopped powering up while another can argue that he went back down to 5,000 based on the tone of the artwork.

For Daizenshuu followers (I'm not saying I'm one of them), it's a perfectly viable explanation to make the official numbers work. Goku's power-burst read at over 8,000, but that doesn't mean he kept that power. The artwork and printed sound effects clearly imply that he went back down to his normal 5,000.

No, you do not need to see another power-up to determine Goku went back to his normal power level. Perfect Cell versus Vegeta SSjG2 is a perfect example to debunk this silly way of thinking.

Respect another's opinion and don't act like yours is the only valid one. Especially when it relies heavily on fan made myths and speculation regarding power gaps that are not backed or supported by the Manga.

Because, why would he mention not using level 2 (kaioken per say) when he is not even using level one (full Power).

There would be no reason to emphasize him needing or not needing kaioken if he does not even need his full power according to you.

Take frieza as an example. while fighting nail he said he would not use his full power which was the level after the one he was holding back to. he didn't however skip even that and say oh even though im not gunna use my full power im gunna throw in the fact that im not gunna use my second form, third form OR my fourth form.
