Goku's First Transformation

So it seems pretty clear that Goku's rage boosted him back to his regular full power, as he was certainly not fatigued as a Super Saiyan. Do you think if the transformation happened when he was fresh he would have gotten even more powerful due to the rage?

I think it just restored his ki completely. Goku never gets any rage boosts outside of Toei shit otherwise.

I think Goku was as strong as he could be there. I always saw the 1st transformation as a healing power-up.

I always looked at it like this: if Freeza can be healed by transforming, Goku healing on his 1st Super Saiyan transformation shouldn't be an issue.

Goku needed help standing up prior to transforming, then he's shown dodging a Kienzan from Freeza in his Base form later. Now Freeza definitely wasn't at his best, since he says he'll "lose even more power" if he's caught in the explosion.

Agree 100%. But there's also the possibility that Super Saiyan Goku is weaker than Kaioken Goku, right?

Super Saiyan seemed to have a "healing" concept to it early on when you think about it. He seemingly was back to full-power after transforming, he revived Freeza by giving him some Chi, and even though it isn't canon, is able to revive the bird in Cooler's Revenge after he becomes a Super Saiyan.

They ignored it going forward, but still. I always thought it was interesting.

Kind of off topic, but I wonder how much ki Goku actually gave to Freeza there.. as it seemed he was on the verge of death. Freeza seemed pretty fine immediately after and wasn't even bleeding from that massive ass hole in his body iirc.

Goku said something like "it should be enough to move" iirc so I'd imagine it's piss weak otherwise

I guess evidently it was enough to stop the bleeding but yeah, pretty weak combat-wise

Yeah, Goku made it seem like it wasn't a lot of Chi, but it appeared to be a good amount since Freeza was able to move around again.

Just imagine if that became a thing going forward. There'd be no need for senzu's if someone could just throw some Chi at you.

He may have been able to move around simply because he's Freeza. Even after the Genki Dama and getting his ass beat by SSj Goku, he was still able to fight head to head with Goku for a little while, so Freeza can probably survive massive injuries naturally. After all, he survived Goku's blast and Namek exploding under him and was still able to be reconstructed as a cyborg.

It did restore his power especially how his PL went from 3M to 150M. Toriyama seems to forgot or ignored that Goku and Freeza loss a lot of ki before their final round started. No wonder why Freezamite thinks that 50% is the strongest lol.

Yeah, Freeza survived as pieces in RoF/Super as well.

Goku told Trunks that he was "too soft" on Freeza and should've finished him on Namek, but I never quite understood what he meant. Would this imply that last blast was held-back?

maybe he meant he shouldn't have even bothered in giving him ki at all and the final blast was more of a reaction thingy
