Grandpa Gohan didn't die?

Let's say that Goku didn't look at the moon that night he accidentally killed Gohan, continuing to live with him until Bulma arrives. As we have no solid timeframe of when Gohan died, assume Goku hasn't received enough additional training to be any stronger than he was at the start of the manga. How does the story progress from here?

I don't think much would change. Outside of martial arts, Grandpa Gohan quite clearly didn't teach him much, so I believe he would encourage Goku to live his own journey, while keeping an eye on him from the shadows to see how he's doing. I can imagine he would eventually participate in one of Tenkaichi Budokais in order to test Goku's growth, preferably the 22nd, as it fits most with the timeline of their canon fight (and we get rid of this "Panputt" wuss). In that case, he would probably be one of King Piccolo's victims as well.

After this, I can't imagine him having any kind of meaningful impact on the story.

I think there'd be some decent changes worth discussing, many minor, but some major:

Part 1
With Gohan there, a lot of the gags in the first arc such as the "no balls" or Goku patting crotches unfortunately don't happen as he helps slowly educate Goku on the world. I don't think getting the Dragon Ball from Roshi would change since I don't see Gohan objecting to a panty shot. When encountering Yamcha, the bandit is immediately humbled upon being graced by such a legendary figure and joins the team a lot earlier, making the growing attraction between him and Bulma far less sudden. Gohan may try to put out the flames of Mount Frypan with his own Kamehameha, though I doubt it'd be strong enough. The main change occurs with encountering Pilaf as Gohan would destroy his machines or their prison without much effort, leading to the trio surrendering the Dragon Balls. I would also believe Goku would have honed the Kamehameha by this point with Gohan there to personally teach him. When it comes time to make a wish, however, nobody can think of one as Bulma and Yamcha are already an item and Bulma would stop Oolong wishing for something as stupid as panties, threatening him with the PP Candy. Ultimately, Gohan decides to use the wish to learn everything about where Goku came from and what kind of alien he is, with him deciding to tell Goku the truth and learn if it can help him stop going Oozaru. From this, everyone learns about the Saiyans and Planet Vegeta far earlier.
The set-up for the 21st TB is basically the same, though Gohan being there to personally train them would allow Goku and Kuririn to get significantly stronger as Gohan definitely seems to encourage sparring in his training. As for Gohan's own strength, it's difficult to say whether or not he got stronger after death or if he simply didn't slack off like Roshi. I'd assume the latter with his hands-on approach to training Goku. Thus, to keep his respect, Roshi starts training seriously in secret with Gohan too, getting close to his pupil's level. Gohan also enters the Tenkaichi Budokai under the Masked Fighter alias, wearing his fox mask and an alternate outfit (for simplicity, let's just say his 2nd colour in the Tenkaichi games). I'll say he replaces Ranfan, defeating Namu whilst offering him advice and Roshi then showing him where to find water in exchange for fooling Yamcha as he did in canon. Gohan then defeats Goku in the semi-finals and reveals his identity, telling Goku there is always someone greater. The final match of Jackie Chun VS Son Gohan is a dead even one, Gohan having a noticeable edge in power but Roshi more than making up with it through technique. Roshi tries to use the Bankoku Bikkuri Sho, with Gohan knowing from experience to dodge it and jumps high into the air. As Goku attempts to track him, however, he sees the full moon and goes Oozaru. Gohan tries to cut off his tail with everyone's help, but it proves too difficult and Roshi destroys the moon. With the stamina drained out of him from that feat, Roshi concedes defeat and Gohan wins the Tenkaichi Budokai.

The Red Ribbon Army Arc plays out the same as Gohan would encourage Goku to go out into the world and use finding the Dragon Balls as a start for his training regime. That is, until Blue arrives at Kame House, with his psychic powers not being strong enough to work on Gohan or Manly GAINZ Roshi. He tries to take a paralyzed Bulma hostage, but Gohan just speedblitzes him and forces him into submission. With no choice left, Blue surrenders and says he will help them find the Dragon Balls and defeat the Red Ribbon Army. Nobody believes him (except maybe Goku and good Lunch) but Gohan decides to go with Blue to seek out the Dragon Balls with Goku, Gohan asking to borrow the micro band from Roshi to travel with Goku. As they arrive at Karin-to, however, Blue makes a call on his radio to Red Ribbon HQ to have all his remaining forces sent to Colonel Yellow's location. When Goku lands there, Blue grabs the tiny Gohan before he can grow back to normal and uses him as a hostage for the Dragon Balls, with Goku giving in. Blue uses this opportunity to escape with Gohan to keep him as leverage in case Goku follows and Taopaipai arrives before Goku can follow. Blue momentarily loosens his grip whilst this happens and Gohan grows back to normal size, knocking Blue out of the plane with a Janken. Unskilled in piloting, Gohan crashes and the Dragon Balls fall in different directions, Blue escaping with three and Gohan finding the four star ball. Goku still survives due to Gohan's additional training having toughened him up, albeit in such bad shape he needs a Senzu immediately upon meeting Karin. With the Zenkai boost he gets combined with his training, Goku becomes even stronger than in canon. Gohan also climbs the tower to meet Karin, showing off his own skill and honing it by catching Karin after 3 hours. When Taopaipai returns for the four star ball, Goku demolishes him even worse than in canon. Meanwhile, Blue had returned to Red Ribbon HQ and was treat with honour despite failing to get the other Dragon Ball. Even with this slight turnaround though, Goku and Gohan solo the RRA with little effort. With Akkuman being Baba's strongest fighter, Goku easily passes her gauntlet before starting his own training journey.

With Gohan there to enhance Kuririn and Yamcha's training along with Roshi's own secret training, they all become far stronger. Yamcha is able to force Tenshinhan into using his full power to win and Kuririn has no difficulty against Chaozu. Meanwhile, Gohan is paired against Goku instead of Panputto and whilst forcing Goku to use his battle level, he ultimately loses after finding out Goku has finally gotten rid of his tail weakness. Tenshinhan needs all his effort to fight evenly with Roshi, who eventually forfeits as in canon. All these factors make Tenshinhan more easily persuaded that Tsuru Sennin's way of teaching is wrong. Goku wins his match with Kuririn, though he needs his full effort to do so. By the start of the finals, Tenshinhan has already fully turned, with it being a fair match from the start. Not taking a beating when paralyzed gives Goku the edge, with him ultimately winning.
Instead of Kuririn, Gohan goes to get the four star ball and, due to the energy it took him to fight Goku, is killed by Tambourine. The structure of the Piccolo Daimao Arc is nearly the same, with Kuririn's addition to the Dragon Ball team not mattering at first as Roshi would put him to sleep along with Tenshinhan. After awakening though, Kuririn helps Tenshinhan with the Mafuba and also tries to learn the Taiyoken from him in order to help him through teamwork. He also makes sure Ten doesn't bring a broken Denshi jar to the fight. Their combined teamwork of a Taiyoken from Kuririn and a Mafuba from Ten almost beat Piccolo, though Drum destroys the container and Ten survives on a technicality as in the anime. With their teamwork, the two manage to defeat Drum and Goku arrives just in time to help them. When Daimao destroys the city, Ten saves Goku and Kuririn, though this doesn't change the fight at all. All the fallen fighters are revived and things go the same as normal.

There is one major change, however. Upon seeing the 4 humans go out into the world to train, Gohan comments on how promising the young generation is to the point they will all soon surpass him, lamenting that he's too old to help them. From this and Roshi being reminded of what Piccolo Daimao wished for, the two hatch a plan to use the Dragon Balls a year later to restore their youth so they can continue to train and help their students. With their ability to make Manly GAINZ heightened, Roshi and Gohan grow to great heights, even deciding to travel up to the Heavenly Realm to train with Goku during the year before the 23rd TB. Gohan is pitted against Chichi in the preliminaries and defeats her whilst Roshi defeats Taopaipai. In the actual tournament, they take their places. Roshi fights evenly with Tenshinhan and ultimately defeats him, whilst Gohan forces Goku to remove his weighted clothing to defeat him. In the semi-finals, Roshi puts up a decent fight against Goku, though is still not on the level of Goku's full power and things continue the same from there.

To be continued with the Z era events.

Unfortunately? It seems I'm not the only :withheld around.

Anyway, I don't agree with everything you said.
I think that, with Gohan around, Goku would already have trained with Roshi by the time Bulma showed up, at least on the level of the basics (pre 21st TB training in canon), so, by the time Bulma arrives, he is at least as strong as his canon 21st TB self.
If Bulma and Yamcha become a couple, I don't see why the crew continues the quest for the Dragon Balls anyway.
Yamcha's/Krillin's gains between 21st TB-22nd TB were already unbelievably haxed in canon. I guess they trained as hard as they could. Gohan's presence wouldn't magically give them an even more haxed boost.

Unfortunate because it works as a great gag in showing his unique character traits and showing the difference between members of the cast in how they react to Goku's naivete, not that I'd expect your mind to care about that over other things.

As I said, we have no timeframe, so this scenario is one where you have to assume there was no time to change things significantly in terms of training.

If Bulma and Yamcha become a couple, I don't see why the crew continues the quest for the Dragon Balls anyway.
It wouldn't occur instantly. Moreover, Goku wanted to see Shen Long and Bulma said she wanted an unlimited supply of strawberries prior to deciding on the perfect boyfriend, so hooking up with Yamcha wouldn't stop the quest.

Yamcha's/Krillin's gains between 21st TB-22nd TB were already unbelievably haxed in canon. I guess they trained as hard as they could. Gohan's presence wouldn't magically give them an even more haxed boost.
More training partners = greater gains. Unlike Roshi, Gohan seems to take more of a sparring approach to training much like Popo from what we see in anime filler and can infer from him wanting to test Goku directly.

Part 2 - Saiyan Arc

Much would change in the 5 year gap. With his young looks and the fact he was popular with a few girls in heaven as an old man, Gohan would definitely find a wife after his performance at the 23rd TB to earn him some popularity and perhaps Roshi would as well. Although it's tempting to pair Gohan with Lunch for the food pun, it wouldn't make much sense in terms of character chemistry. To avoid just calling her "Gohan's wife" or making up a new character, I'll just say he marries Cynthia (the female instructor from the driving filler episode) and they have a son called Sanban (based on Bansan, Japanese for supper). Goku's son is still called Gohan, so I'll be referring to the first Gohan as Grandpa Gohan from hereon unless context makes it obvious to which Gohan I'm referring. With Kuririn seemingly staying at Kame House, I'd assume he'd be significantly stronger at the start of Z due to training with Prime Roshi. Meanwhile, Grandpa Gohan would encourage Chichi to at least let him teach Gohan some basics of self defence and train his tail, making Gohan far stronger at the time of Raditz's arrival. Perhaps the biggest change, however, would be the gravity room/ship existing. With knowledge of Goku's origins, Gohan would've commissioned Dr. Brief and Bulma to put in work of upgrading Goku's ship and installing a gravity device in case they had to fight off Saiyan invaders in the future, likely at some point after the RRA Arc. Without Kami's ship to use as a base and with the fighters not being strong enough to handle it at that point, however, it would take a while to build and remain unused until after the 23rd TB.
That said, when Raditz arrives, Goku and most of the cast would be far stronger. Roshi would naturally get huge GAINZ and Grandpa Gohan would be quite strong from sparring with Goku from time to time, as would Kuririn from training with Roshi. Sensing he was being outclassed, Piccolo would also train far more intensely. Yamcha would likely remain the same due to seemingly being more preoccupied with his relationship and baseball career. As for Ten and Chaozu, I doubt the former would sit back and be left in the dust, deciding to spar occasionally with Goku and use the gravity chamber.

When Raditz shows up, he encounters Piccolo and prepares to fight him. The difference here is that rather than being at 322, Piccolo's weighted self is already at over 1,000. Raditz holds the advantage until Piccolo removes his weights, Raditz then retreating when scanning another high battle power on the move and not wanting to wear himself out fighting the Namekian. He indeed heads to Kame House, where Grandpa Gohan, Tenshinhan and Chaozu are also present for the reunion (maybe Lunch too). The interaction is far different from in canon, with everyone immediately recognising that Raditz is a Saiyan and he is the one who's shocked by this revelation. It's also worth noting Goku would also still have his tail due to knowing about it and simply taking precautions never to view a full moon again. Kuririn walks up to Raditz, this time telling him not to underestimate Earthlings that have had time to prepare for someone like him. Raditz smacks him with his tail, but Kuririn only stumbles back slightly rather than being knocked through the house. Raditz uses his scouter and sees that the Earthling's power is at around 900, much to his shock. Before he can read those of everyone else, Goku steps up to take him on, telling his brother he can either join them, leave Earth or be beaten until he chooses one of the two, removing his weights as he says so. Raditz charges at Goku and its a fairly even fight, with Goku having the edge due to more well honed martial arts skill and Ki control. Raditz is eventually knocked to the ground and before he can counterattack, Grandpa Gohan grabs his tail and makes note of how lacking in skill he is to have not trained his tail. Raditz begs to be let go, which Goku tells his grandfather to comply to. This leads to Raditz knocking him away and shouts to the group that even if they kill him, his two allies will come in one year and each make him look like nothing, flying off after that. Goku decides not to follow him as, if what he says is true, it's more important to prepare for that and Raditz can't do much on his own.
As Raditz heads to his ship to make a retreat, Piccolo tails him and blows up his pod so he can't escape. The fatigued Raditz is at a disadvantage fighting against Piccolo, but causes enough of a distraction with a large Ki blast to retreat. Piccolo wouldn't take too long to find him but, in that time, Raditz relays events to Nappa and Vegeta. He makes note of how impressive it is that Kakarrot has transformed such a pitiful species into a great fighting force and that if one low-class Saiyan is capable of so much, Vegeta could utilise Earth's population to make a grand fighting force. Vegeta finds this interesting and says he'll be there in one year's time. He also tells Raditz that if he cannot subjugate the Earthlings or at least bring Kakarrot to their side before they arrive, he will view him as another traitor and kill the two brothers. After this, Piccolo confronts Raditz after having eavesdropped the conversation. Raditz is willing to accept his death at this point, but Piccolo tells him that he'll need a strong sparring partner if he's to kill two even stronger Saiyans and that it's not as though Raditz is skilled enough to best him (in reality, Piccolo is counting on grabbing Raditz's tail if he tries to kill him). Raditz concedes, seeing this as an opportunity to grow strong enough to defeat both Kakarrot and the Earthlings.
Meanwhile, Goku is contacted by Kami and filled in on the situation. Kami tells him there is a way to assure Goku is fully prepared by going through Kaio's training, but he will have to die first. Goku senses Raditz and Piccolo together, deciding that dying in battle against them is the best option. He goes on alone, though everyone else follows behind in case Piccolo and Raditz use this as an opportunity to conquer Earth. Goku starts to fight Raditz, but then Piccolo attacks both, saying that he doesn't want to kill Goku through someone's help, but killing Goku and getting some sparring with Raditz in will make this a good opportunity for him. This three-way brawl goes on quite a while until Goku purposely goes between a Bakurikimaha from Piccolo and Double Sunday from Raditz, taking the attack head on and dying. It's at this point that the Earthlings arrive. Piccolo notes that Goku's body disappearing must be Kami's doing and mentions the Dragon Balls, to which Vegeta responds from Raditz's scouter that this will make their visit to Earth all the better. At this, Piccolo destroys the scouter. When Gohan sees his father dead, he goes into a great rage and charges at Raditz, knocking the pair of them unconscious. Astonished at his power, Piccolo is intent on training the boy, though the Earthlings stand to fight him. After much arguing on what's best for Gohan and Earth, Grandpa Gohan tries to reason with both sides through a compromise. He deduces Kami will train the Earthlings; to which he proposes Gohan train with Piccolo and Raditz for 6 months whilst the humans train with Kami and the other 6 months will be for all the fighters to train together in the gravity chamber. Piccolo agrees to this before flying off with Raditz and Gohan. Kuririn calls Gohan crazy for this, but the old master notes that this Piccolo is fundamentally different from the pure evil Daimao and someone willing to look at the bigger picture. Gohan still transforms into an Oozaru as does Raditz, with Piccolo destroying the moon, though doesn't remove their tails for obvious reasons.

Thus, the training goes as expected. The humans have all surpassed Kami before this (other than Yamcha and Yajirobe), but still make great gains from sparring with each other and learning the philosophies of Popo's training. Meanwhile, Gohan's wilderness training also consists of Raditz surprise attacking him when not training with Piccolo. Gohan is toughened up far quicker than in canon and moves onto actual sparring with the two, the addition of Raditz's teachings causing him to become far more savage in his fighting yet still emotionally unstable due to his age. After 6 months, they reunite with the humans and start gravity training. All the humans struggle to adapt to 10G, though Raditz finds this easy and Piccolo and Gohan soon get used to it, even moving on to 20G. Meanwhile, Goku reaches Kaio's far faster than in canon, mastering the techniques far quicker. As such, Kaio doesn't forget to factor in the journey back, though Goku still wishes to get in as much training as he can and is revived just around half a day earlier than in canon.

When the Saiyans arrive, Vegeta reads the battle powers of the Dragon Team and notes Raditz has indeed trained them into a great slave army. Raditz, however, is hesitant to deliver on this after having spent months with them and learnt how it is to create true bonds with them rather than living in serfdom. He tells Vegeta that he underestimates how strong they truly are and to prove it. The Saibaimen are grown, though Tenshinhan, Kuririn and Yamcha dispose of them all themselves. Nappa then steps up, to which Piccolo does in kind and Raditz lets Vegeta know for reference that Piccolo is almost as strong as himself. Piccolo then proves himself to be superior to Nappa, though Nappa's durability prolongs the fight. It's at this point that Kuririn notes he can feel Goku's Ki and Vegeta detects a battle power of around 5k, knowing it must be far greater than that in actuality. Even the prince is concerned about the combined might of his opponents and steps in, telling Nappa to deal with the Namekian whilst he takes care of the rest. Vegeta swiftly kills Yamcha and Chaozu, knocking the other humans aside quickly. Raditz and Gohan attempt to fight him but are no match, with Vegeta then seeing Nappa as drawing out the battle and kills Piccolo himself before telling Nappa to deal with the Earthlings whilst he punishes their traitor and his nephew. At Piccolo's death, Gohan gains a rage boost great enough to draw blood from Vegeta but before he can retaliate, Goku arrives. It's at this point that Raditz makes his decision and tells Vegeta he will be neither his nor Freeza's slave no longer and will die in battle alongside his brother if it comes to it. Goku then tells Raditz he'll take on Vegeta somewhere remote whilst Raditz deals with Nappa, giving the remaining Senzu to Kuririn and Tenshinhan who'd be in a fairly critical condition. The fatigued Nappa is quickly brought down by Raditz and comments that, whilst he can't believe a low-class managed to surpass him, perhaps it shows there's hope for the Saiyan race to evolve to the point they can kill Freeza. Raditz avoids landing the killing blow at this point, saying there's hope for Nappa if he joins them. Raditz tells him he'll deal with Vegeta and come back for him later, leaving with the Earthlings to Gizard Wasteland.
At that location, Goku is at an advantage against Vegeta. With his initial strength having been far greater when starting Kaio's training, a regular Kaioken is enough for him to dominate. Vegeta then resorts to using the Power Ball and becomes an Oozaru, though cuts off Goku's tail first; the battle going much as it did in canon as Vegeta wouldn't be fatigued from attempting a beam struggle. Upon Kuririn noting the bright light, Raditz closes his eyes and tells Gohan to do the same. They land and figure out their battle plan. Raditz tells Grandpa Gohan to distract Vegeta whilst Kuririn launches a Kienzan, Roshi using the Bankoku Bikkuri Sho to at least momentarily put him in place. Once it succeeds, he'll remove his and Gohan's tails as they come to assist them. The plan works without a hitch and the Dragon Team defeat Vegeta through their teamwork, though Tenshinhan is killed during the battle. Everyone is resolved to put an end to Vegeta, but Goku objects due to wanting to fight him again. Raditz respects his wishes out of Saiyan Pride, with the others begrudgingly conceding.

In the aftermath, the trip to Namek is decided upon. Gohan, Kuririn, Roshi, Grandpa Gohan and Bulma will take Goku's ship whilst Raditz waits for both Goku and Nappa to heal whilst Dr. Brief makes work on constructing a ship using Nappa's pod. Raditz informs them that it would take Vegeta's pod far longer to reach Namek even assuming that was his destination, but warns them to watch out for any areas controlled by Freeza, telling them about him. The trip isn't performed immediately, with Bulma first having her father spend a few days fine-tuning Goku's ship to have a spot not affected by artificial gravity. Thus, after around 10 days, the group are prepared to head into space. How will they fare? Find out next time...

Does Goku marry Chichi in this timeline? With him having not patted her on the crotch when they were kids, I don't think she'd have fallen in love with him to the extent of waiting for him all her life. I expected you to write something like a Rejuventated Gohan/Chichi love story.
In other respects, you have Piccolo become many times stronger over the 5 years just because 'he was more determined' and then everybody and their mommas gain power in their sleep. Bullshit.

Gyumao seemed to be set on marrying her off to Goku and, given her simplistic ideals on love and marriage from her upbringing, I doubt her perspective on things would change much.

In other respects, you have Piccolo become many times stronger over the 5 years just because 'he was more determined'
Considering his gains when training for the Saiyans and his gains on Kaio's (the latter of which was suggested to be without sparring partners at all manga-wise), that would be in line with the kind of haxed gains he's had from training methods compared to other characters.

and then everybody and their mommas gain power in their sleep. Bullshit.
No more bullshit than how easily Roshi's been portrayed to make gains in current material, something even enhanced by his youth here, and most of the cast having access to greater training regimes in this scenario. If this is "bullshit", so is the humans surpassing Raditz with 1 year of training (something that has many factors to support it).

Part 3 - Freeza Arc

With a far better spaceship, the group will arrive on Namek on 20th November as opposed to 18th December as in canon. On the trip, each of the fighters spend a good portion of the trip training in various ways, training their bodies with gravity training (all of the characters having become accustomed enough as to each handle 20G to varying degrees of difficulty), image training/meditation and Roshi tutoring them further in being able to react in battle without thinking (Ultra Instinct for everyone? :troll ). In particular, Gohan becomes able to handle 30G by the end of the trip, though the lack of Senzu prevents him from attempting anything higher through abusing Zenkais. Freeza is far from arriving at that point, so the group have a lot of extra time to gather all the Dragon Balls and becoming friends with the Namekians. Before they can summon Porunga, however, Roshi is given a telepathic message from Piccolo via Kaio that he and Yamcha want them to wait until they have gotten all they can out of Kaio's training as to make up for their performance against Vegeta. In the meantime, the fighters continue to train using the gravity chamber and, with Namekian healers around, they're able to essentially hack their way to major training gains, Gohan soon becoming able to handle 100x Gravity. Nail also partakes in this and the Namekians offer the Earthlings more knowledge about the planet and their species, with the Earthlings saying they should still prepare in case Vegeta and the person they've heard about from Raditz called Freeza shows up.
When Freeza does show up around 13th December, the group consider themselves ready to face such a threat. Dodoria and Zarbon are quickly oneshotted by Kuririn and Nail whilst Gohan attacks Freeza directly. Even with his training gains and natural potential, however, he's only able to cause superficial damage to Freeza and make the tyrant angry. When reading Nail's mind, Roshi learns of Saichoro's ability to unlock someone's potential and tells Kuririn his plan. Kuririn blinds Freeza with a Taiyoken and everyone flies off to Saichoro's house. They waste no time in reviving Piccolo whilst Gohan and the rest get their potential unleashed and Piccolo tells them to wish him to be brought to Namek, saying his new skills can help them. The last wish is used to revive Chaozu. Upon seeing the dark sky, Freeza interrogates a Namekian who after slaughtering a village, with them telling him the Dragon Balls will take 133 standard days to be restored and that whatever plans he had have failed. Freeza is livid, but sees there's no point in doing anything rash. He leaves on his ship just before the group can catch him and sends a message for all available combatants of the Freeza Force to be brought to Namek for an invasion in 133 days' time, knowing the Ginyu Tokusentai will be useless if one opponent could injure him, even sending a message to his father to be prepared to assist him.

Meanwhile, the Saiyans on Earth are informed about everything. Nappa is fearful that the group has angered Freeza, but Raditz makes note of Gohan's performance as being the hope for the Saiyan race. Rather than waiting for a Senzu, the group return to Earth (aside from Piccolo who's still on Namek to help out in case of an unexpected threat) with a Namekian healer (for simplicity, we'll say it's Dende) to heal the Saiyans. Everyone but Bulma then gets back in the spaceship after stocking up on food and head to Namek, the Saiyans abusing Zenkais as much as possible. By this time, Gohan ought to be more or less on the 3mil level Goku was after his final Zenkai. With the training he's done, he won't be gaining ore Zenkais, but can still grow from training with the others.
On 18th December, Vegeta arrives on Namek and is immediately defeated by Piccolo, who informs him of the situation. Left with no other choice, he concedes to assist them if it means defeating Freeza. He starts training with Piccolo and Nail, managing to abuse his Zenkais over time. The main group return to Namek a few days later and the three Saiyans get their potential unlocked, the greater training than in canon on top of this boost essentially plot haxing Goku to around the level of his final Zenkai already, whilst Raditz and Nappa end up just above Vegeta's final Zenkai. In response, Vegeta has the Namekians allow him to abuse the Zenkais as much as possible through fatal injuries and healing. Though it offers him an even greater boost than in canon. Nappa and Raditz do the same, though end up slightly below Vegeta and Goku after having nearly maxed out their Zenakis on the trip. The remaining days are used to prepare as much as possible. Bulma is told not to revive those Vegeta killed, however, as the Earth's Dragon Balls may be needed for a wish if things turn out bad. Saichoro dies, with Tsuno becoing the new master of the Namekian Dragon Balls.

When the entire Freeza Force show up, things become the Namek Arc version of FnF. The humans defeat the thousands of soldiers sent to assault them whilst the Saiyans charge to attack Freeza directly, who has arrived in his 2nd form. Upon seeing many of the Saiyans present, Freeza immediately goes into his true form and sends them back with 50% of his power. This level is enough to send fear to most present, all except for Goku and Piccolo. With his additional training and having his potential unlocked, Piccolo has gotten to the level where he isn't far behind the Saiyans, but he and Goku both now have a skill in common - Kaioken. His additional training on Kaio's planet has allowed Piccolo to use Kaioken in a way unique to Goku's in conjunction with his Namekian regeneration, using the latter to usher forth greater levels of Kaioken at the expense of greater stamina loss. Goku uses Kaioken x20 and Piccolo x30, with them easily knocking back Freeza and making him cough blood. Freeza responds with 70% and strikes them both with a Death Beam. As he's about to kill the other Saiyans, he notices Dende healing Goku and Nail fusing into Piccolo, him instead killing Dende. All this while, Ginyu has been sitting back and waiting for an opportunity to use Body Change, but the vast amount of soldiers covering the battlefield has made doing so difficult. Before he can even get a chance, Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta kill the Ginyus whilst Goku and Piccolo prepare to face Freeza again. Vegeta launches a Power Ball in the hopes an Oozaru Nappa (of who is able to retain his rationality) can help them somewhat. Annoyed by the whole event, Freeza launches Death Beams at those still fighting, managing to kill Vegeta, Raditz, Grandpa Gohan and Kuririn. Their deaths cause not only Goku, but also Gohan to gain enough rage as to become Super Saiyans. Goku tells them that he will face Freeza alone to defeat hi at his best, with the arrival of Cold prompting Gohan and Piccolo to change their opponent. As in canon, Freeza launches an attack at the planet's core. Whilst Gohan and Piccolo quickly bring Cold down, Goku is still fighting Freeza. He telepathically communicates with them and the Namekians, telling them to use the Dragon Balls to revive him if necessary but to focus on fleeing to the ship and having the Namekians bring everyone else to Earth aside from Goku, Freeza, Gohan, Piccolo and Freeza's soldiers. The ship takes off, the Namekians teleport to Earth and Goku puts an end to Freeza. With Freeza's ship far closer and some soldiers still being alive, Goku has them get him off Namek in time.

On Earth, now 25th April Age 763 (8 days before Kuririn and Yamcha were revived in canon), there's much discussion of how to go about the wishes. It's eventually decided by Bulma to wish Planet Namek back into existence and then wish Grandpa Gohan back to life, whilst the Earth Dragon Balls are used to revive all of Freeza's victims. Gohan and Piccolo return to Earth 6 days later with those slain in the battle against Freeza returning on the other ship restored with the planet a day later and the Namekians stay on Earth another 133 days before reviving Tenshinhan and returning to Namek. As for Goku, he would have Freeza's men bring him to Yardrat for training after mentioning the planet, returning to Earth 122 days later than he did in canon (around December of that year).

So, with so many dates now out of whack, we'll have to wait until next tie to see how the multiple timelines of the Cell Arc fare...

Part 4 - Artificial Humans/Early Boo Arc

Many events occur upon everyone's return to Earth. Grandpa Gohan decides to focus more on his family than battle and takes time to both look after and train Sanban. Gohan continues his studies, yet still trains with Raditz when he can, his time with his uncle having altered his personality somewhat. The revelation of there being two Super Saiyans has motivated him in a similar manner to his 3 year training in canon, with him sparring against Nappa every day as well as Raditz whenever he visits Capsule Corp. By the time Goku returns to Earth via Shunkan Ido, Vegeta has achieved the Super Saiyan form and fights Goku. With the additional training on top of their final Zenkais on Namek, both are essentially at the level of their pre-Rosat selves now, Vegeta showing a slight edge in power but Goku keeping things even with his Shunkan Ido. Both eventually fall in a draw, Vegeta vowing the next time they fight it will be his victory and Kakarott's life will be his prize. Bulma and Yamcha break up towards the start of the new year as, with Yamcha having remained dead to train for far longer despite knowing he wouldn't be in the battle, Bulma has moved on and hooks up with Vegeta shortly after. With the time Goku was away being far longer than before, I'd say Chichi will be making up for lost time and Goten is conceived around the same time as Trunks was in canon and is here.
Time passes and, after much training, Raditz achieves the Super Saiyan state. Nappa does so much later from Vegeta teaching him in order to have a better sparring partner. Goku still dies of the heart virus at the same time he normally would and, on 12th May Age 767, #17 and #18 show up. With the additional buffs he's gotten, Vegeta alone is already able to overpower #17 and even the Artificial Human's stamina and barriers aren't giving him an edge, whilst Raditz overpowers #18 but is being kept from landing a killing blow early due to her stamina. Eventually though, the twins are destroyed without a single casualty from the Dragon Team, with the Pilaf gang accidentally turning themselves into babies in the meantime. Piccolo is wary of how strong a potential threat like Vegeta has grown, to the point he could take over Earth if he were to convince Nappa to side with him. Not wanting to resign himself to that and knowing his counterpart may not have long left, Piccolo fuses with Kami and travels to Namek on the Son family's ship in order to bring Dende as his replacement. Many of the fighters have a similar mindset to Piccolo as without Goku around to stop him or without Goku's sacrifice having changed his outlook, this Vegeta's personality would not have developed at all. Raditz continues training with Gohan as well as helping the Son family with radish farming and, over time, Chichi develops enough attraction to him to move on and remarry. Gohan isn't affected by this as Uncle Raditz has become a surrogate father of sorts at this point and Chichi bears Raditz a daughter called Toben around Age 770. Gohan finds a balance between his training and studies during these times of peace. Vegeta starts training Trunks around a year later, the bond he forms in training his son as well as Nappa adjusting to Earth life starts to change him somewhat, though nowhere near as noticeably as his post-Cell Game self. During this time, Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta would all come to the conclusion there must be a stage beyond Super Saiyan and train to achieve it, though this takes about twice as long as it would via the Rosat's climate. Grandpa Gohan tells Raditz that this way isn't the proper method of improvement due to the flaws of the Grade forms, helping Raditz come to the conclusion that mastering the regular Super Saiyan is better. Together Raditz and Gohan achieve this over time, with Vegeta and Nappa eventually doing the same.

Thus, the seven years after the defeat of #17 and #18 pass. Gohan starts high school and that series of events culminates in Videl blackmailing Gohan. With his personality being far different and more akin to his future self with an education, he's not scared at this at all and simply says it sounds like a fun idea. Goku tells him that he'll be coming back to Earth for one day, exciting everyone and convincing them all to participate, including Yamcha and Tenshinhan. Gohan does, however, wonder if they'll be able to give Goku an even fight as he must have undergone even greater training in the afterlife. At this, Piccolo proposes using the Rosat. Vegeta enters with Nappa first, the former managing to achieve SS2 during the trip. In the meantime, Gohan teaches Videl Bukujutsu and spars with Goten and Raditz. To his surprise, Goten is at a level far above himself and able to transform into a Super Saiyan, though I'd limit him to still being far weaker than he would canonically. Gohan and Raditz go into the Rosat next and, again, the former gains SS2. Piccolo then goes in alone, followed by Kuririn and Yamcha, Tenshinhan and Chaozu and then Roshi and Grandpa Gohan. Nobody goes in a second time to to overtraining and the situation not being desperate enough to warrant this.

The day of the 25th TB arrives. Everyone is excited to see Goku again, though there is some awkwardness with Raditz and Chichi's situation, but Goku is understanding of it. The Junior Division ends in Goten's victory due to Raditz and Gohan having put in more time to train his techniques than Vegeta did for Trunks. As for the adults, the roster is obviously far different with most of the Dragon Team participating, the matches being:

1. Kuririn VS Tenshinhan
2. Shin VS Piccolo
3. Yamcha VS Grandpa Gohan
4. Kibito VS Gohan
5. Raditz VS Nappa
6. Goku VS Vegeta
7. Sanban VS Roshi
8. Yamu VS Chaozu

In the first match, both are evenly matched until Tenshinhan uses the Kaioken (of which he'd acquire in this timeline for reasons elaborated in the Freeza Arc) and wins. Piccolo forfeits as he did in canon, whilst Yamcha manages to defeat Gohan. Gohan goes SS2 against Kibito as he did in canon and things go similarly from there, though only Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and Piccolo follow Shin, with Kuririn not confident after his loss and Raditz wanting to get the prize money for his family and Nappa knows he can't keep up with the younger Saiyans' antics anyway now that he's in his sixties. The Budokai continues with Raditz VS Nappa, in which Raditz's techniques and better stamina due to his age land him the victory after a tough match. Roshi swiftly beats Sanban and Chaozu wins by default, though forfeits immediately due to knowing how outmatched he is. Tenshinhan defeats Yamcha in the semi-finals and despite Roshi's techniques proving difficult, Raditz defeats him after a short match. As expected, Raditz then defeats Tenshinhan and becomes world champion.
Meanwhile, the Babidi's spaceship events go the same until Gohan VS Dabura, where Gohan quickly kills Dabura with SS2. Vegeta, however, still lets himself fall under Babidi's spell as, despite being equal to Goku here, Vegeta doesn't want things to become yet another draw. With Dabura not here to defend him, Babidi has Goku and Vegeta fight not far from Boo's cocoon. Goku goes SS2 and fights Vegeta at a disadvantage, but he hasn't had time to develop SS3 in Otherworld and is almost killed. Gohan then steps in and fights evenly with Vegeta, further irritating the prince. All this causes Boo to be revived, with Goku using Shunkan Ido to grab some Senzu before they all turn their attention to Boo.
Next time, the fight with Majin Boo begins..

Has anyone told you that you're the last man alive who uses the word 'whilst' in place of the word 'while'?

As for your story, I don't know where to start...
-Freeza bothering bringing his father to Namek, when, in canon, it took an SSJ for Freeza to decide to ask for daddy's help. Also, mind that, in FNF, Freeza stated he disliked his dad because he ordered him around, which makes one think it would make no sense for Freeza to share the dragon balls/immortality related info with him unless it was absolutely necessary.
-Kami accepting to merge with Piccolo just on the off chance that Vegeta (who has become a family guy) decides to conquer Earth, when, in canon, he clearly stated that he would give up his individuality only in an emergency.
-Gohan meeting Videl anyway even though, in this timeline, Mr Satan isn't a hero and, therefore, there is no Satan City.
-Everybody learning kaioken when, in canon, only Goku could learn it.

You're clearly unfamiliar with British English then, in which whilst still has literary uses.

He brought the Ginyu Tokusentai just on the off premonition of a Saiyan somewhere growing in strength. If a single fighter was enough to injure him (a child, no less) and they had several allies, there's no reason to believe he'd spare any expenses. Also, the idea that Freeza would be sharing immortality with Cold is entirely an assumption on your part. I highly doubt Freeza would tell his father the full details unless necessary and, even if he did, he still has the power to keep Cold in place to avoid him ruining his plans.

-Kami accepting to merge with Piccolo just on the off chance that Vegeta (who has become a family guy) decides to conquer Earth, when, in canon, he clearly stated that he would give up his individuality only in an emergency.
Vegeta was far from becoming a family man when, even in canon, he didn't care about the potential death of his one night stand and their son, not even having a conscious realisation of him caring for his son until Future Trunks' death; and this version of Vegeta is even less "tamed". Kami already believed his natural death may occur soon during the Saiyan Arc, so I doubt he or Piccolo would just accept both dying due to Kami being too old when there's a far better alternative.

-Gohan meeting Videl anyway even though, in this timeline, Mr Satan isn't a hero and, therefore, there is no Satan City.
You do realise Satan City wasn't constructed just for Mr. Satan being the hero, don't you? It was originally Orange Star City and merely got renamed. Beyond the name, there's no reason to believe the events concerning it would be altered.

-Everybody learning kaioken when, in canon, only Goku could learn it.
Because they've all advanced to the point the gravity of Kaio's training would provide little benefit or struggle to their training like it did in the main timeline, thus drastically advancing and latering their training regime.

I think if Gohan didn't die before the series begun. I can see him playing Roshi's role as a mentor giving an advice of his wisdom to others and that's it. And I think he should be written off by him dying against King Piccolo and then he decides to not want to revive anymore as his way of saying that he has nothing to teach Goku anymore something like that.
