Vegeta himself admits hybrids are naturally more gifted than pure bloods when it comes to power, so the kids being superior wouldn't be a big deal. Specially when Goten is shown (And confirmed in Daizenshuu 2) to be equal to Gohan, whose power loss is only noticeable in his SSJ2 form.
