Vegeta was cool with fighting Final Form Freeza alone when he thought he stood a chance. If he stood a chance against 1st Form Freeza, wouldn't he have shown off by saying something similar? (e.g. "Step aside, weaklings, I'll fight him myself.") However, against 1st Form, he seemed to be counting on Krillin's and Gohan's help.

Vegeta knew Freeza could transform though. I'd say Vegeta should at least rival Freeza due to that alone (480-500k), their brief struggle further confirms Vegeta being very close to him.

I think he was counting on their help in both scenarios. He was close to matching 1st Form Freeza but would have lost after a long battle if it was only himself. With his estimation of 2nd Form Freeza, he was only somewhat confident in their ability to beat him.
