Vegeta was alive for a substantial amount of time on Namek when SSJ Goku and Freeza were fighting. Shouldn't he have felt his ki back then?

Goku/Freeza were within sight of Porunga and Vegeta should have been close to there. Earlier in the arc he was capable of sensing far smaller disturbances in ki from across the planet. Any ideas?

Less than 5 minutes is a substantial amount of time? :king

Considering he'd just come back to life and was probably very confused and focused on the matter, I can buy him being too engrossed with the current situation to calmly sense Galu and Freeza's Ki.

I feel like sensing two behemoths would be just as shocking. The Z Senshi was able to sense suppressed Freeza and Cold when they were still far away from Earth. I can't see Vegeta completely shutting off his senses because he was revived.

I agree with CC that disorientation is a fair explanation. And technically speaking he had only been using this ability for a few days by the time he was killed by Freeza. It would be more natural to wake up from the afterlife and not immediately try to do it since it was a new ability.
