Player's mom just sits at home. It's a very small home, but it has a Gamecube or N64, and a TV downstairs. She doesn't seem to have a job. There's nowhere to go to work.
The others in Plato town (or whatever it was called. Pallet Town! That's it) just chill out. Maybe their ancestors worked in a warehouse making and moving pallets, but they just chill out.
You go into houses all day and night and they're usually occupied. There are very few businesses. Just a few shops, rare department stores and the occasional bug forest, museum, port or mine.
What happens to sucky trainers? Do they lose all their money and starve to death? Or is a basic level of food free and shelter free and money is for extras?
There aren't many houses actually. Most people just stand on routes. Do they go home to an overcrowded house? Or are they vagabonds?
Most places have no schools. Are the kids not getting educated? Are we playing as an underclass, who have homes and food but no education and just wander around? Someone is educated, because there's advanced technology. Or is that created by pokemon or past humans, and now 99% of humans just stand in tall grass all day, waiting for a young kid to walk by?
