How good are the Dragon Box's?

I still see them fetch for a high price, even in the era of blu ray. Supposedly its the best viewing experience but I wanted some first had accounts and second opinions before browsing further.

i have dragon-boxes 3 - 5 (bcoz i bought & caught-on too late). basically the entire cell-saga.

they are gr9

& the books are also gr9 they come with

but original dragonboxes are way better & are also now cheaper than the 1s that funimation sold

bcoz they are only 2 big boxes with the 1st half of the series & 2nd half of the series

with 2 big dragon-books

that's for dragonball z

I never bought any, but you can look up some comparisons on YouTube between them and the orange bricks. I think @Kamikaze Pyro has them.

I personally think that the level sets released by FUNi were the best, but they were cancelled after the second set. :|

I'm looking at getting one. I'd like 6 or 7, but those are always the most expensive for some reason. I already have the whole Namek Saga on blu ray. So my options are limited to 1 and 5 right now. Those are the best prices for content that I don't already own in some form.

@2kewl4u so you would have 5 which is one of the ones I am looking at. That's a very good recommendation.

I'm looking at getting one. I'd like 6 or 7, but those are always the most expensive for some reason. I already have the whole Namek Saga on blu ray. So my options are limited to 1 and 5 right now. Those are the best prices for content that I don't already own in some form.

also iirc in the other releases but the blu-ray 1 some of the image has been cut, so if u want to see the series as the series is, then ye dragonboxes

how abt u see some un-boxings to see how the whole thing looks???

there are also the dragon-box singles

which have also booklets inside, but they are like leaf-lets

That's a good idea.

I haven't watched a Dragon Box in probably years. Maybe I can pop one in tonight. I remember the quality being pretty good, but obviously not Blu-ray.

Really? I don't really know what to think of DragonBall Kai, but I think time has made me grow fonder of it. I think I hated that when I first heard about that.

It's way closer to the manga. Even if you skip Z's filler episodes, you can't skip the filler in canon episodes.

I can see people preferring Z for 2 reasons:

1. They enjoy filler for some reason

2. They love the English soundtrack

Really? I don't really know what to think of DragonBall Kai, but I think time has made me grow fonder of it. I think I hated that when I first heard about that.

I felt the same way. Sometimes I'll pop in Kai just because it has a slightly more modern feel to it. The animation is cleaned up, new soundtrack, et cetera. But when I need a good old dash of nostalgia, I have to go with the original.
