How old is Freeza for his race?

I was of the opinion that Freeza's actually younger than most people think (for his race anyway) considering that he uses childish terms like "Papa" and switches to the pronoun "boku" when he is in his true form, and his father shows no sign of weakening due to age despite clearly being far older. But DBS chapter 33 seemingly suggests he's older than Frost, and I can't really just disregard it because AT is senile when he can establish anything he wishes and the "sempai" thing is in the anime too.

Thoughts?

I always thought that was simply the manner in which Freeza spoke. Similarly to how he speaks with more classy dialogue in the earlier portions of Namek. Perhaps he is younger for his race, but doesn't Super also imply Freeza is extremely old? Didn't he deal with Boris way in the past?

Long enough to master several forms that shouldn't be unique to his species.

Assuming a longer lifespan for his species, which I think is fair, let's say 150 years, he could be around 50 years old but with the maturity of a teenager and having only been ruling for a short time.

Boris ordered him to blow up Planet Vegeta when Prince Vegeta was already born going by that lame flashback of him getting mad at the king, so we know that wasn't hundreds of years ago or anything.

Basically what SSJ2 said. I think he's a young adult for his race. ''Sempai'' was just a term used to show the teacher-student relationship between him and Frost imo, though I don't doubt Frost being even younger than Freeza is.

I don't think Freeza calling Cold "papa" means much. Many grown ups call their parents like that due to being used to calling them "Papa" and "Mama". I do think Freeza looks like someone on his late teens/early 20s though, he's quite childish and immature. I'm leaning towards him being on his 20s earthling-wise as he seems to be older than Frost though.

Freeza looked old as fuck in chapter 33, so perhaps he's just starting to age now? I certainly don't think he looked so old in the regular manga. Perhaps that is simply Toyo's art style..

I think it is just Toyo's retarded art style. Krillin in the manga at least had a fairly fit build even if he was the size of a 12 year old otherwise, but recently he's started drawing him like GSM looked in 2013

Perhaps. Freeza's face looks so worn out though, whereas Frost's looks incredibly clean/untarnished.

@GSM: How can Vegetto defuse while using the potara?

Freeza logically would only be 4 months older than he was when he died the first time, so an art style inconsistency seems the most likely choice.

You could argue he was stressed out in Hell, but it's noted so many times that you don't age while dead that I doubt even Toyotaro would overlook that.

> potara

I never doubt that these mongoloids could make another mistake in regards to consistency.

AT probably doesn't even remember Cold's name considering it hasn't been mentioned since the Cell arc so it wouldn't surprise me if he thought Cold died of old age lol.

As a few have already stated, I don't think those examples would necessarily prove Freeza not being entirely physically mature. After all, his uses of "papa" and "boku" can easily be attributed to his courteous and somewhat effeminate speaking pattern to most characters that he persists with other than when angered. Whilst Cold didn't seem to be weakening, it could very well be that Freeza's race can maintain their strength into old age much like the Saiyans are implied to, especially given Cold and Freeza are mutants. Cold also presented some noticeable wrinkles around his cheeks, so I could view him as relatively close to the final stage of his race's lifespan.

Frost's case of "senpai" doesn't necessarily have to link with age. Whilst the term is somewhat aged based in certain environments such as schools, at it's core it has more to do with addressing someone who's experience in the profession is greater than your's, so Frost could be using it purely due to recognising Freeza's superiority in power to himself.

Freeza was in base form and not Golden form when they met though, so its more likely age related esp when he hasnt gotten anywhere near srs yet.

When watching the Spanish dub, Frieza acted like a little boy (for comedic reasons, as this was a foil of Frieza in his own saga) of sorts in front of his dad. He said "papa" like he was calling Cold "Daddy." This affected my headcanon that Frieza is simply a very childish adult man. Cold is probably 20 human years away from kicking the bucket as he clearly does not want to conquer the universe himself.

Middle-aged

On Namek Freeza was going though a mid-life crisis.

EDIT: just noticed I posted before.

It's interesting that DBS: Broly suggests Freeza thinks it wouldn't be strange for him to still be growing at his age when he said he wanted his growth to look natural. So he could easily be only the equivalent of a 20 year old in human age.
