Super had a lot of hype around it, and the movies were successful (albeit, shit) in the west, so how successful will a Funi dubbed Super be, especially in North America?

I'm sure Funi, Cartoon Network or whoever will be plugging the fuck out of it, considering how insanely popular DBZ was, and so I think Super will do quite well, with the average viewing age being about 20 - 27 (I don't see it being popular with kiddies, only nostalgic Z fans)

I'm excited for it, because Funi will likely use the touched-up animation, and hopefully the dub will reawaken the sleeping giant, and launch DB back into the mainstream (kinda like what Go did for Pokémon) and that could very well mean more members for DBZ sites.

I honestly think they'd be more successful "skipping" the movie rehash arcs like they did with GT's first arc, but we'll see. I honestly prefer the dubbed voices nowadays due to how aged much of the Japanese cast has gotten, although it wouldn't motivate me to rewatch Super considering the mediocrity of Toei's faggot animation

It will definitely be a a popular like top 10 but i don't think it will surpass DBZ's popularity.

How many weekly viewers?

I'm guessing about 2 million in the USA.

I fear it would scare off most western fans due to its worse than fanfic plot and worse than amateur animation. Non-hardcore fans will be okay with the nonsense Super power scaling but without epic villains i.e Frieza and Cell the show will not succeed.

Yeah, Super is too pg and the only villain they have is Black and Zamasu which would take a while for them to debut.

Considering how unsuccessful it is with western audiences atm, I see the only popularity it'd have is with the nostalgia factor of DB on TV. Hell, with the west as a whole, it's unlikely it'd even be aired in my country, considering Kai didn't air in the UK until about 2-3 years after it first got dubbed and isn't even aired on repeat anymore.

I think it could be successful if it began in the U6 arc. However the first 30 or so first episodes may be a turn off for Westerners considering it will take more than half a year to get through BoG and FnF remakes.
