How would the Marines defend against...

More than one Yonko teaming up? I feel like this must be a possibility that they've considered. The Yonko have no reason to like Marines, so I don't see why a gang-up wouldn't be conceivable. Do you think it's possible that the Government/Marines have access to an ancient weapon? With their entire force, they could barely take down the Whitebeard Pirates, so it seems relatively easy to wipe out the entire Government.

In terms of military, they wouldn't. The Gorosei were freaking out at the hypothetical of Shanks/Whitebeard or Shanks/Kaidou teaming up.

Either the WG have access to one of the Ancient Weapons or the Gorosei are on Yonkou or Pirate King level.

The Gorosei have a lot of battle scars and the Gandhi looking one seems to be a swordsman, possibly even having the Idai Kitetsu, so it's clear they've been in at least one tough battle thus far, which based on their rank, probably wasn't against some low tier screbs.

To follow up on this CC, Crocodile claims in Alabasta that with Pluton, he can overthrow the entire government. And they'd be unable to harm him if he could obtain it. Does this potentially weaken the overall power of the military/WG?

The World Gov seems tl have better standing with most citizens globally than the Yonkou or other pirates, so maybe that's something that would be a factor. As in non-milirary dtuff. Or on the otyer hand they could attack random people, which at least WB and Shanks wouldn't want. Maybe they would kidnap Yonkou crew members if actually forced to fight?

Probably in the war against the Kingdom that was erased.

I assume that there's some major deterrent keeping the Yonko from teeming up. But if the Government and the warlords teaming up was barely a match for the strongest yonko I doubt they could beat two of the others at once. So it would have to be one of the ancient weapons.

It would make sense if the government used one to reshape the world during the void century that they'd still have it.
