I feel like Zoro could beat Luffy

I've just finished the Davy Back arc, so I'm talking about only these iterations of the characters. That sports match really gave a lasting impression on me on how much of a monster Zoro is even without the swords. He's easily in the same level as Luffy when it comes to pure strength. I feel like Zoro with the three sword style could potentially beat Luffy since he has no real defense against sharp weapons from what I know.

I'd say so. I don't see how Luffy could defend against his swords at that point in the series. It would be an extremely difficult fight due to equal powers but Zoro should win.
