Raditz had been Vegeta's companion. Both with the same power as in canon.

Suppose Nappa's power was only up to 4,000. How did the story unfold?

Without a weak tail and with Gohan's rage boosts not being enough to cut it, the Dragon Team would have no chance against Nappa, who'd probably kill Goku as soon as he showed defiance. Nappa wouldn't be patient enough to catch information on the Dragon Balls and simply wipe out Earth's population before rendezvousing with his comrades. With no knowledge of the Dragon Balls, the Saiyans would continue to work with Freeza who goes unopposed until Babidi eventually encounters Freeza or if Freeza's forces ever find Planet Vampa.
