Is Fat Boo A SSjin3 Tier Or Not?

Ahill, what do you think about the Daizenshuu 2 entry? It kinda implies Goku and Fat Boo are equals, even though Fat is a step behind Pure. Maybe this implies Pure Boo >= SSJ3 Goku?

Well, Piccolo also stated that Goku had yet to go all out. I think you can take that to mean Goku was still pulling his punches a little, not attacking as hard as he could. So maybe Goku (for realz) >= Chibi Boo > Fat Boo ~ Goku (vs Fat Boo).

Yeah, but Boo's silly expressions imply he held back as well.

Ahill, is there anything that contradicts Goku's Kamehameha >> Pure boo >= SSJ3 Goku = Fat Boo? Daizenshuu certainly implies it, and Goku was also scared of Boo's planet buster and claimed he couldn't stop it.

Boo made a planet buster instantly. Even if Goku could pop into Super Saiyan 3 and fire a blast, it wouldn't have enough power in a quick enough time to counter. I don't take it to mean Pure Boo is stronger than Goku. Their fight looked even, but Goku had the advantage until he dropped in stamina.

The fact he stood like 3 panels or so holding that blast mKes me think he charged it. The Daizenshuu entries made me rethink it.

Nah their fight looked 100% even. Were did Goku have the upperhand?

Boo forms, we see Kibitoshit's reaction, Boo screams like an ape, Boo fires a blast that Vegeta deflects, Boo raises his hand and makes a large ball, Vegeta and Goku freak out, Kibitoshit freaks out, Goku begs him not to do it, and then Boo throws it. There doesn't really appear to be a "charging phase" to me. Boo pretty much has it at capacity immediately, and it just looks like he may be charging it due to the insertion of the reaction panels.

Hand to hand, just like Gohan had the close quarters upper hand VS Dabura. I believe Goku and Vegeta's assessment that Super Saiyan 3 would be enough to wipe out Boo if it was at full power (like a Kamehameha).

Well, Goku and Kid Boo fought evenly. Goku got in even more shots tbh, forcing Kid Boo to exploit his body consititution to retaliate. I wouldn't put Kid above Goku. It's true that Goku said they'd train hard not to lose next time, but considering Boo had a feasible advantage with his stamina and that Goku couldn't maintain the SSJ3 the same way with a living body, I think his comment makes sense even if he isn't weaker than Kid Boo. I think the more likely route is just that Goku held back a little against Fat Boo, not going all out like Piccolo said. We see that the 1st thing Goku does when Pure Boo charges at him is to unleash a KMHMH, whereas he was still smiling upon being punched by fat Boo and apparently not going as serious as he should. His fight with Kid Boo seems just more intense.

Also, Goku is still confident in his own powers in the Kaioshin Kai even upon seeing how he couldn't stop Kid Boo's ball, so I don't think that fact Goku couldn't stop it implies Goku is weaker, otherwise Goku should be convinced of his inferiority by that. I think there was more going on there, maybe that Planet Buster had an amp behind it.

[mention]ahill1[/mention] Do you think this could be because of Goku's fighting abilities? Vegeta could still semi hold his own against #18 thanks to that despite the power advantage, and the Pure Boo/Goku gap would be smaller than the #18/Vegeta if Pure Boo > Goku is a thing.

Actually, Goku ran away and wanted to sit there and make a plan instead of fighting him:

Context: after Kaioshin hands Goku his Potara, but he refuses it
Goku: “It’s alright. I’m tellin’ ya, don’t worry. He can’t come all the way here. We’ll think up some sorta strategy. I feel bad for the aliens who will be sacrificed in the meantime, but we’ll use the dragonballs later…”

Though Goku's behavior here is pretty odd. He shits himself at Boo's blast and after this he threats him as a big deal and doesn't at the same time, saying he doesn't want to fuse but also doesn't want to fight Boo directly. He also implies he wouldn't be using SSJ3...

Goku: “Alrii~~iight. I’d better go all out right from the start…! If we get done in, then the entire universe will go ‘poof’…”
Vegeta: “Let me see this ‘Super Saiyan 3’ thing with my own eyes…”
Goku: “Is that alright? You just might not get your turn…I can say this now, but the truth is that with that fat Boo, I would have been able to defeat him at the time with Super Saiyan 3…However, I wanted the young guys to manage something…For the Earth’s sake too…”

Any clue Ahill? Figuring out Goku's thoughts here might be the key to how he compares to Pure.

Well, Boo was there in the space when Goku made that comment iirc, and he didn't know Boo could make use of the Shunkan Ido, so the plan mignt be referring to something else besides "figuring a way to beat him" imo.

Goku seemed confident, but when the battle seemed to be going on Kid Boo's favor, he emphasized Kid's regeneration and his SSJ3 rather than how Boo's stronger than he thought, so I think such was the main reason... Goku thought Boo was within manageable parameters, but didn't consider the SSJ3's heavy drain and Kid Boo's regeneration ability.

As for Goku's fighting ability possibly evening the battle, the only techniqhe he utilized were the KMHMH and the Shunkan Ido, and the Shunkan Ido only amounted one blow for Goku, so I don't think so. Besides that, Boo was the one exploiting his body's elasticity to kick Goku and to stop himself in midair.

He's pretty close, i'd say he's a lot closer to SSJ3 tier than Full Power Perfect Cell was to SSJ2 tier, and FP PC dwarfed the MSSJs

So Fat Buu is not SSj2 2.5....more like 2.8.
