Is "several" really used?

I see this a whole-lot in Herms' translations and is that word really used?

Sometimes they use that word to literally describe the quantity of 2. How is that several?

Well:

So 3 gifts in all.

Herms suck. There's also the fact that Piccolo stated that Vegeta is stronger than Kid Gohan in Viz while Herms has Piccolo wondering whether Vegeta really surpassed Kid Gohan.

So having #18 taken out and miraculously recovering his perfect form after that isn't a gift?

It isn't. He just got the knowledge that he could come-back as Perfect-Cell after near-death, nothing to do with Goku.

Even-though maybe the fact that he killed Goku, he considered a gift. But it's not something that he kept. Yeah he killed him, but that was more like something that just happened.

None of them other than the IT are technically gifts. But the character cell is considering them gifts. So the use of several as a definition of "more than two but not many" holds just fine.

I like the VIZ line of "goku didn't manage to defeat me at all, he just made me better." a bit more than the original here.

But he only really said 2.

Just go with Tambourine being 2x stronger than Cymbal. It works really well with my gaps.

I didn't really ask for that specifically. Tambourine could easily be higher, there'd really be nothing contradicting.
