Is the Saiyan arc overrated?

A lot of people say the Freeza arc is overrated (and with good reason), but what about the Saiyan arc? It had perhaps the best filler in the series along with the driving filler when it came to shit like Gohan's desert episodes, but the Saiyan arc has perhaps the most simplistic plot structure of any arc in Z, with most of it just being a race against time for Goku to arrive, and Vegeta's fight being in many ways just a "miniature" verison of the Freeza fight with less stakes, and many of the same cliches (Galu's Kaio-ken crippling his body, the Genki Dama failing). Galu's death here also carries less weight than the one in the Cell Games, and is in many ways just a buffed up version of the times he got his ass whooped in the Piccolo Daimao arc and was put out of commission while he got a power up.

Thoughts?

It was the first arc post timeskip and he introduced the whole Goku isn’t human thing. He probably kept it simple on purpose to not overwhelm the audience.

The Saiyan Arc is very linear, but there is a real sense of danger in the Arc, because if Piccolo dies, no one can get revived, and nobody knew about the Namekian Dragon Balls yet. Also, Goku VS Vegeta spans an entire volume, and that is the best volume in the Manga, because Goku VS Vegeta is the best fight in the Manga.
