I know a lot of people wanted Guts to recruit Rickert, but what really bothered me is that he pushed Jill away, especially after she herself wanted to join Guts. I understand that Guts was more anti-social around this time period, and that he didn't want her to die indirectly because of him, but her home life was shit. He also had Puck around too, ever since the Black Swordsman Arc, so it's not like he was totally alone. Your thoughts?

At the end of the arc, Jill proved that she was tough enough to fight back against her father and that she wasn't going to accept that sort of treatment anymore. Guts knew that she was strong enough to remain in her village, far away from the horrors she'd be exposed to if she traveled with him. Guts was all about revenge at that point in time, he had no desire for companionship.
