In DBS, Goku is seen using the Kaioken technique constantly... he doesn't drop out of it after attacking, he uses it all the time even when he is just standing around.

In the manga, Goku (upon defeating Nappa) described the Kaioken as something that would be amplified momentatily:

Chapter: 227 (DBZ 33), P1.3, P2.1
Kuririn: “Goku, how’d you do that? Was that something you were taught by Lord Kaio?
Goku: “Yeah. It’s called Kaio-Ken! [ ] You control all the ki in your body…momentarily amplifying it. If you get it right, then your power, speed, destructive force, and defensive force all become many times greater…”


And then later, against Ginyu, he stated he could put out a temporarily power which is way higher than the one measured by him:


Chapter: 285 (DBZ 91), P3.2
Goku: “I’ll tell you right up front! The power I’m capable of putting out temporarily is far, far greater than this.”


Translated in VIZ as "In bursts"... so, maybe now Goku has enough control over the Kaioken that he can use it even when not attacking and just 'chilling' there? Or is it maybe TOEI's laziness [or maybe lack of time] in having to draw the Kaioken aura whenever he attacks?

Galu's KK aura wasn't always instantaneous in the manga either, particularly against Vegeta and Ginyu

It wasn't always instantaneous, but his time usage was still pretty short. Against Ginyu he was still using the Kaioken after hitting the 180k plateau but then quickly turned back to base, the same as against Vegeta on Earth. Granted it wasn't just to attack, but it's nothing compared to his Super usage, in which he spends long periods of time in it, with the aura on, even as far as in the fight agsinst Hitto, where he stated the Kaioken usage was still risky and could end up destroying him, despite the fact that even Kaio-sama in the Saiyans saga stated for Goku not to overuse it given how risky the technique was.

Maybe Goku can't revert back to his normal self when using Blue though

Either they're doing it to show Galu is accessing a power higher than regular ass Blue since most Super fans are almost as dumb as Galu himself , or they just said fuck it to the original description of the technique

Maybe Goku can use Kaioken like that if he feels like it

The fact that Goku can even use Kaio-ken with Blue is asinine when considering how much strain Blue supposedly puts on to the body to begin with.

And it's mostly Toei's doing. They used a constant aura in the Pikkon fight for instance.
