Hmm... I think I found a serious error. This shouldn't be possible.

Kid Goku landing the Kamehameha on Grandpa Gohan leaves Gohan down for the count for the most part, but Freeza's Nova Strike which is about equal to a Freeza Saga Kamehameha, hits Goku full blasts, puts him down for a little bit, but Goku bounces back up without much issue.

It seems like survival feats and damage feats are all plot-based and just go with the flow for the intention of what the author perceives or is trying to portray. Just like how we see with Vegeta surviving the Kkx4 Kamehameha and Piccolo surviving the Super Kamehameha.

It's likely used as a plot device to show just how powerful, or resilient these villains are. Only like in a game where you unlock the villain as a playable character, they are no longer anywhere as viable as they used to be.

Which makes consistency pretty impossible.

It's very possible that Freeza Saga amp isn't anything special, but we have some severe issues for sure.

Perhaps defensive ki amp is the best way to help deal with this stuff indeed or otherwise, just leave it all alone. I still want to explore it, but there's quite a few issues like this I'd imagine that make the overall package an impossibility.

AT has always very carefully calculated character's positioning, but I think with ki blasts, it's very story based without a true, consistent thought.

In the first category shouldn't Cooler swimming through KK Goku's Kamehameha be included?

Freeza himself said Kaioken x20 Goku's Kamehameha REALLY HURT him

So you should change it from "A bit hurt" to "it REALLY HURT!!!!!"

Hmm, Goku's body is probably amped himself when he's doing the Kamehameha. Hmm such a tough subject.

If you go 1.5x it seems pretty harsh here.

Ssj Goku vs 50% Freeza's Death Beam?

This one is between tiers 1 and 2. It's a tank on pair with Vegeta vs 19.

Android 18 vs Ssj Kid Trunks Suppressed Blast
Jeice's Crusher Ball vs Goku
Oozaru Goku vs Buff Jackie Chun's Kamehameha

I thought Goku casually deflected the crusher ball? And did he even notice Jackie was firing a Kamehameha?

Also add Piccolo vs Imperfect Cell's Kamehameha to this tier.

Also Goku's Kamehameha on Grandpa Gohan has the same effect as Kuririn's Kamehameha on Chaozu, even though Kuririn's Kamehameha is said to be piss weak.

It's always been common sense that one shot is kinda inconsistent right? Some guys just survive gaps they shouldn't. Same here. Vegeta vs KKx4 Goku is the quintessential example. Damage has never been consistent Sometimes equal fighters don't damage each other, sometimes they damage the hell out of each other. Individual blows don't tell the story, you gotta look at the full picture to get it.

The problem is that blasts are also just a piece of the picture in the fights, so on their own they're at least as hard to gauge as individual attacks. Even more so because their effect is inconsistent as I said on the other thread. Are they concussive? Explosive? Burning?

Scan is wrong.

7.jpg
V.21.Ch.314.P.6.jpg

It(the x20 Kamehameha or the whole x20 Kaio-Ken assault) hurt. Freeza didn't say he was hurt here. Though in the anime a moment prior he did say this was the first time someone did this much damage to his body.

Dragon Ball Z.092.DBOX.480p.x264-iKaos [v3] [5B56A8FC].mkv_snapshot_05.57.545.jpg

It's about time no one worth their salt would dare use decades-old shitty scans with incorrect translations.

But with Freeza being harmed, +1 to the x20 KHH > 50% Freeza theory.

I think the Daizenshuu is up to something by saying they're equals. They negated each other: Freeza stops the Kamehameha with 1 hand sure, but his hand is messed up and he almost fails. We can cover that gap by giving Goku's Kamehameha a small amp this time. He's been training his Ki control, I can see him managing a small amp this time.

Goku: 10
~ KKx20: 200
~ KHHx20: 250

50% Freeza: 225
~ Stopping KHH: 250

Is this an example of defensive amp? Everybody is freaking out at this Kamehameha, so it was definitely a full-boosted one.

Defensive amp is probably the wrong term, but there seems to be a special technique for deflecting the Kamehameha in the 22nd Budokai. It's said that the Kamehameha is useless against Tenshinhan, so his deflecting Yamcha's Kamehameha wasn't just brute force.

Ofc this "defensive amp" theory isn't gonna cut it with Imperfect Cell vs Piccolo (that's where I most see this theory), that was just a straight tank, but it gonna help somewhere.

Well as I said, I suspect Roshi did something there. Every time an equal PL opponent takes a Kamehameha in OG DB, it’s game over for them. Roshi couldn’t do that do Goku’s Kamehameha in the 21TB (although I do have to reread that fight, don’t remember how their beam struggle went).

Wasn’t taking Kamehamehas part of Goku’s training to get zenkais? He was pretty fucked up after that.

He amped his ki in his hands and deflected it. Deflection is much easier to do than the other things.

Yeah, we need a whole bunch of examples proving how damaged they can get.

Look at SPC vs Kid Gohan, SPC's amp probably wasn't a lot, but Gohan was defenseless.

I think how they take the blow is nearly as important as how strong the blow is.

There is no room to be forced back. He has to take that into account. Or he’d destroy the ship.
That doesn't debunk the fact that he took his own blast without moving. That's the whole point. It means one can take a blast of their own level without moving.

Blast power can be altered is my point. How do you know it was a full powered blast?
