M2 Trunks vs General Rild

Even assuming Rild is limited to his base self, he still stomps. Trunks questioned if an enraged Pan was stronger than himself, and Rild was able to tank her punch once he took her seriously. Add in that Rild's metal breath makes him difficult to deal with even if close to his power and Trunks really has no chance. Trunks only surpassed his base self after the events on M2.

Trunks said Rild had an impossibly huge ki and was shocked by Pan being able to knock him down. At best he'd be able to muster up a similar feat, but he wouldn't last long against Base Rild.

Rild was created by Mu/Baby. I'd have to think that controlling your own creation would be different than taking over the body and mind of an enemy.

That was after the battle on M2, not during it, and GT really does like to crank up the statement of "Saiyans get stronger with each fight" to 11.
