I think there's going to have to be a cap on how strong this attack can be. 5x seems to be a good place.

Goku walks away from the Final Explosion the same way Reecome did from Final Crash. Singed, a bit of cosmetic damage, but largely unharmed.

Final Explosion 500
Super Saiyan 3 Goku 500
Majin Buu 400
Majin Vegeta 100

What do you guys think? I think it has to be above Majin Buu, but not tremendously so. If Super Saiyan 3 Goku has a 10x boost, it would require the same boost for Vegeta's attack, which I think 10x is pushing it too far.

I think this is probably the best route to finding the Super Saiyan 3 multiplier.

Do we know this for sure though? The only reason why Boo walked away was due to his regeneration. He was almost reduced to atoms by it. Goku isn't all that much stronger than Fat Boo for him to laugh off this attack in my opinion.

I don’t think he’d laugh it off. Reecome is a sicko, but it shouldn’t hurt him that much.

If Final Explosion is that much above Majin Buu, it would have killed him don’t you think?

This should be in the battle section thread

Aa for the topic, DB Super proved that SSJ2 tier full power attacks cannot even affect SSJ3 tier levels with Goku vs Trunks whom stopped his best attacks with his fingers, so likely no matter how much effort Vegeta could put into that, he ain't able to even scratch Goku.

The Final Flash is already 3-4x range. I can see the Final Atonement going up to 10x.

Boo can regenerate from ashes against Gotenks. If not for regeneration, he’d be dead. Sure, he often lets himself get affected by stuff, but this blast was a massive deal.

I think the mods said once multiplier comparisons are better fit here.

Didn’t Goku struggle a bit to hold Trunks? And that was just a melee attack, self-destruction is worlds above that.

Trunks was the one that was nervous, tense and trembling, while Goku was smiling when he do that and effortlessly pushed him back. His feat was even better than Android 18 taking Trunks' sword head on.

A gap like SSJ Trunks vs Androids proved that characters can't be affected by blasts with that type of gap, SSJ3 Goku vs Majin Vegeta is greater than that.

God Toppo received the Final Explosion and he just came out of the ring despite of being < to Vegeta, SSJ3 Goku has far better possibilities being much stronger than Majin Vegeta to tanking it head on.

Vegeta needed the Final Explosion to counter the FP Hakai. Toppo “only” came out of the ring because killing isn’t allowed. It could also have been like Goku and Vegeta’s Saiyan Saga beam struggle when Vegeta just survived for reasons.

Goku needed to charge his ki as a SSJ3 to the maximum to be able to destroy Pure Boo. If we're considering that he needs a fully charged KHH to kill Boo, then it leaves more room for Vegeta's explosion to be ahead of Boo. This is similar to the logic of Vegeta thinking his planet buster would be strong enough to kill Freeza. He must have thought it would be strong enough to beat Fat Boo, and that's considering that he knew how insane Boo's regeneration was.

Killing Boo has way more to do with precision than power. You have to erase every single bit of him.

I always saw explosive waves as sort of ineffective because all the power flies everywhere and it's not really concentrated. I mean, how else is Goku supposed to just block Piccolo's explosion like that? On the other hand, the Kamehameha is a dense, focused blast. That oughta to the trick. Whenever Boo is pierced or ripped in half by a KHH, there's no small particles surviving.

The FE is a far better attack than the Kamehameha due to its all encompassing nature.

So we just go with

SSJ2 = 4x
SSJ3 = 5x

?

Well that’s why we are having the discussion.

We have the Post Zeta Gohan issue and the FE issue. Both seem to point towards a smaller boost than Super seems to suggest.

Do we have anymore evidence in Super about the gap?

Zeno thinks SSJ2 = SSJ1 and is impressed by SSJ3, but it might be a joke about SSJ2 and SSJ1 looking similar.

Other than that, nothing. Either it looks godly to impress SSJ2-tiers like Trunks and Caulifla or it looks no better than SSJ2 to make SSJG look massive next, like vs Toppo and Merus. There’s also the aura thing in BoG, but that’s very subjective.

Gohan and FA aren’t really evidence, but it makes things very awkward. And it’s not like we have reason to hax SSJ3 like that, so why hax at all? It’s a 5x boost on top of his limit, that’s huge.

Yeah, originally I liked the idea of 10x but honestly, I think I'm going to just stick with my 5x here. I think the logic is pretty sound and it is what it is.

Super Saiyan 3 Goku is like Super Saiyan Goku going KKx20, sounds pretty cool, no?

Good catch. I was trying to make some KK parallel, and SSJ3 being 20x SSJ makes a lot of sense. Both are too high to be sustained.
