The Fountain of Youth,[4] also known as the Immortality Elixir (不老不死の薬 Furōfushi no Kusuri, lit. "Elixir of Immortality")[5][1] or Life-Sustaining Potion (不老不死の水 Furōfushi no Mizu, lit. "Water of Immortality"),[6][3] is a mythical fountain with mystical rejuvenating properties, which has the prophesied ability to restore a being's body to its prime, or at the very least, prevent them from fatalities such as death.
Overview
The elixir from the Fountain makes those who drink it completely immortal, as it was said that its user would be incapable of dying at King Piccolo's hands.[3] It was first mentioned by Turtle, who argued against Master Roshi by stating that he had used the Fountain of Youth and therefore was not as close to natural death as he claimed.[1]
However, it is later revealed that Roshi had lied about drinking from the Fountain of Youth when he must confront King Piccolo, after he claims he drank from it to calm Tien Shinhan.[3]
In every form, it has no known users, and acts as a recurring lie used by Master Roshi to either explain his longevity or calm others who are worried for him. As a result, and depending on the source, the existence of the Fountain is dubious:
In the Japanese version of the anime, he claims it does not exist.[3]
In the original manga, Roshi states that immortality as a whole does not exist, implying he believes the Fountain to not be real either.[6]
In the English manga and Funimation dub, he simply states that he did not drink from it, making no statements about its existence."

The Immortality Elixir (FUNimation "Fountain of Youth") is an elixir that, when consumed, gives the user a form of immortality. Muten Rōshi is stated to have drunk the elixir, and it is attributed to his immense age.[1] Despite granting immortality, the immortality appears to be relatively weak, as it only enables Rōshi to live forever — he can, however, be killed, as seen in altercations with the Great Demon King Piccolo and Majin Boo."

Master Roshi's lifespan is far longer than most humans' in the Dragon Ball Universe, but just what is it that's kept him going for so many years?
