Everyone likes to have this debate of whether Gohan was a Super Saiyan or a Super Saiyan 2 against Dabura. Using math, I will attempt to debunk Gohan being a Super Saiyan. (Buh mah art!) I know, I know. But math > art!
Assuming damage energy and energy taken for Buu's meter is a direction 1-1 relation with the user's ki we can make some assertions.
Super Saiyan 2 Gohan ~ 50% Buu's Meter
Yamu and Spopovich steal Gohan's full power as a Super Saiyan 2 (not his fully enraged power) and it is used to fill up Buu's meter to nearly half.
Gohan fights Dabura and although we do not see the entirety of the fight, it seems a mostly defensive battle, with neither side being damaged all that much.
We see after this fight, Gohan's damage has contributed to the Buu meter about 5%.
So from here we can conclude that the hardly damaged Gohan's damage energy that he lost is 10% of Super Saiyan 2 Gohan's full power. Now on to da maths...
Let's assume Gohan was a Super Saiyan and that Super Saiyan 2 is a 2x boost.
Buu's Meter 100
SSJ2 Gohan 50
SSJ Gohan 25
SSJ Gohan Damage 5
This would mean, the damage Gohan sustained would be 20% of his total power as a Super Saiyan. So the inverse would mean that Gohan after fighting Dabura would be at 80% of his health. Although this is not unreasonable, I do not think Gohan is damaged enough to warrant this kind of drop in power.
Ok, let's look at Gohan as a Super Saiyan 2 now...
Buu's Meter 100
SSJ2 Gohan 50
SSJ2 Gohan Damage 5
So Gohan's damage is 10% of Gohan's full power. That would mean after the fight Gohan is 90% of his power. This seems more realistic to me.
Hmm, for some reason I thought this would be more conclusive than I thought. I mixed up some of the math previously. All in all I think it's still a win for the Super Saiyan 2 side. Just look at Gohan after his fight with Dabura, should he be at 80% health or 90% health. I think 90% is definitely the more reasonable option.
