You think Roshi wouldn't try a Max Power KHH if it could kill Piccolo? Mafuba was equally risky, if not more so and he didn't even consider using his max power form. Daimao didn't even try to dodge when Goku hit him with his KHH so it's unlikely he would have feared Roshi's either.

Agreed, plus Piccolo always gets stun locked when he sees someone charge up an attack because he is paralyzed by the idea of Mafuba. Bro went through some real trauma.

Piccolo may very well try to take it head-on. So if Roshi could actually do something with it, he probably could land it.

Roshi killing Piccolo breaks lore imo, that means Roshi’s lack of a feat forces us to reinterpret what happened at the 21st Budokai.

So why doesn’t Roshi consider this an option? If Tien distracts Piccolo he has a chance to land it.

I think the fact this isn’t a real option proves the Max Power Kamehameha is way overhyped.

Mafuba may be a better option but the point is there was no other option.

You are rewriting the story. Roshi has no other options but Mafuba. Max Power isn’t an option. That’s the point.
