.... in a game of Duel Monsters. Who wins? To fit Meruem's ant theme, he uses Haga's Dartz arc deck and has 4 days to master Duel Monsters.

Atem's God Cards are banned for obvious reasons.

If plot armour's favouring Atem, he wins via DORO! MONSUTA KAADO!

In an even game, Meruem's superior intellect would probably be enough for him to win. Atem/Yugi may be a prodigy in the game but, unlike Komugi, he doesn't have some kind of unconscious Nen bond to give him an edge and has been shown capable of being brought close to defeat against players that weren't all national champions or had any greater bonds to the game than the various champions Meruem zero-diffed.

Which players brought Atem close to defeat aside from Millennium foes like Bakura, Pegasus, Marik and champions like Kaiba? It's worth noting that one of the few opponents to bring him close to defeat who weren't connected to Egypt in some way (Mai) only did so because Atem/Yugi's concentration was wavering after nearly pushing Kaiba to kill himself iirc.

Which players brought Atem close to defeat aside from Millennium foes like Bakura, Pegasus, Marik and champions like Kaiba?

Pretty sure Pandora/Arkana gave him a tough time despite him being pretty much a no-name, even without factoring in the pressure of his saw gamble.

Pretty sure Pandora/Arkana gave him a tough time despite him being pretty much a no-name, even without factoring in the pressure of his saw gamble.

Pandora put Atem in more of a bind than Keith did Jonouchi. Atem even commented that Pandora's skill with spells and summoning the Dark Magician was able to rival his own, so he's the outlier in no-names more than anything else.
