Yes. Though I’d wager that Conqueror’s Haki might have something to do with it as well.

I think it was said that the Shusui owned by Zoro was forged black from constant battle. Basically confirms that Mihawk's blade was the same way.

I still don't get why Mihawk suddenly got intimidated when Zoro from the Baratie arc whipped out his ultimate attack on him lol. Should've been about as threatening as Gear 2nd Luffy from Marineford to a Pirate King.

He underestimated his talent.

My theory is that Zoro displayed Conqueror's Haki with his aura.

No because we are talking about different characters with different contexts in this case.

Both are astronomical gaps. Zoro likely won't catch up to Mihawk until the final arc, and he was barely stronger than his Morgan arc self here.

It's not about him being threatened. He displayed an attack that he initially believed was above his skill level. He saw his potential as a swordsman and that's why he let him live.

Technically yes he's commending his ambition but I don't think he means Zoro was actually tapping into that power.

It still seems pretty damn odd that he'd sweat at the showing of talent of an ant whose ultimate attack he could still likely block with that 3 inch long knife when he never particularly displayed any signs of being intimidated in Marineford.

Mihawk had that same uncomfortable look as when someone is exposed to Haoshoku Haki. I really wouldn't be surprised if Zoro displayed it considering his extreme strength of willpower was recognized by the strongest swordsman on the planet.

He's a swordsman himself so of course he would have more respect for Zoro's potential.

You make a good case for it. I'll admit that it's at least a possibility.

I don't see what else could make someone of Mihawk's caliber even remotely uncomfortable honestly.
