From 2008-present it's arguably the comeback to DB! NOW lots of things happen like a Red Ssg and a Blue..I mean SSGSSJ. A GOD appeared! Gohan new design. Freeza return and died. So many things. Dbz Kai Dbz Boo Arc kai!

What's your opinion on all of this. I tend to find it exciting but sadly disssponited. Like basic plot fuck ups and just poor material Imo. Yo Son Goku was good. But everything else? Just a tad... Bad.

While I am happy that there is new content being released, I can't say that I've enjoyed the actual products. BoG was mediocre, but it wasn't anything special to me. FnF looks worse than that simply from reading the synopsis. I'm hoping that DB Super will at least be entertaining.

All of the Goku wanking and Gohan nerfing irks me. Gohan was supposed to have the most potential! And be the strongest at the End of Z!

I also don't like all of the inconsistencies created in the new material.

Too much Goku wanking, BoG was ok, the only part i really liked was when Vegeta attacked Beerus, even though nothing happened to Beerus and shat on Vegeta afterwards, was still awesome while it lasted, still havent watched RoF and Yo Son Goku was good, still want a dub though

In addition the crossover with One Piece and Toriko was glorious, well not the Toriko part, eww.

I've honestly very much enjoyed most of the new material. The 2008 OVA was marvellous from start to finish, BOG was a hell of a lot of fun and ROF is shaping up to a non-stop action fest, which I'm sure will satisfy the appetite for the the battle loving portion of the Dragon Ball fandom. Although, I'm a bit indifferent towards Dragon Ball Minus. But I think the best thing about the new material is that it has provided new ground that can be covered, i.e. Gods Of Destruction, the 11 other universes etc It's laid the foundation for Dragon Ball Super really well and I hope that delivers, too.

I still think of Goku's saiyan family as Bardock, Raditz, Goku, Gohan, Goten and Pan

I tend to forget Gine since DB isn't that good..she sucks. Im sorry. I always forget her.

Modern DB is a hit or miss with me. Sometimes the new stuff can be good and at other times it just be.... Bad.
Let's hope Super is not a fuck up like 'F'...

Well the movies are entertaining enough. They have good animation too. I don't know my first time seeing Beerus VS SSJG Goku I was like "yooo thatss siiickk" With some work it can be made better. Gohan starts off as a weakling in BOZ and then in EOZ he was considered strongest until BOG came up. Who knows maybe in DBS He'll have a jump in power I mean it would-be pointless to make him a Goku and Vegeta spectator like in the new movies right?
But at the end of BOG dubbed when Piccolo said " Goku it's scary what you can do when you're backed up in a corner" my reaction was " That Used to belong to Gohan "

I want to give Super a chance before writing it off, and Revival of F...yeah somebody very dear to us pulled a George Lucas, but I respect the work done on Battle of Gods. Hell, Goku actually lost at the end. That's something, unexpected and refreshing. and Yo! was delightful. I didn't take it too seriously.

I rewatched BOG in english with my brother yesterday, and I gotta say, while it was mediocre, it was actually better than most of the Toei Dragon Ball Movies out there. I guess I enjoyed it better this time around because I wasn't as burnt out on DBZ as I was back then.

I liked Episode of Bardock somewhat, that's about it.

I despise EOB with a red hot passion. Part of what made Bardock unique was that he was remembered due to that fact that he wasn't a Super Saiyan. He was just a regular Saiyan who, among the thousands of other Saiyans, stood up to Freeza even though he knew he was going to die. That was what made Bardock's story and character so awesome and tragic. Then EOB had to shit all over that by having him sent back in time when he was dying, which is the stupidest plot device in the history of writing and narrative, just to assimilate him into the Golden Haired Army, beat up Freeza's ancestor and make him a "badass".

Fuck. That.

Plus, with EOB making it seem as though Bardock was the original legendary Super Saiyan, it makes it seem as though that it was all in the genes that Goku would become a Super Saiyan, and not because he was his own unique individual. That single handedly ruins the entire theme of the Super Saiyan, and with that, arguably the entire portion of Z.

Fuck Episode Of Bardock. Fuck it right in the ear.

^Definitely worse than FnF imo. The latter at least has the pros of adding somewhat new transformations (even if they're mere palette swaps) and a good insert song. As bad as it performed, it at least tried to work with somewhat implied stuff such as Freeza having great potential power, rather than just magically opening a wormhole for merchandising and SSJ Bardock the time traveller.

As for the op, I'm glad there's new material to judge, though it's been for the most part, underwhelming. Out of the new material, the only ones I enjoyed were BoG and Kai's handling of the Saiyan/Freeza Arcs.

These movies don't follow Well The manga, but unlike Gt They are not boring. And It is important too.
And I like the fact that everything new can serve as new material for fan created work.

I honestly like all of the new stuff, regardless of things lacking or struggling.
I even liked GT...
I like it all because it shows the characters I (we) love going on adventures and just doing their thing.
Just seeing them animated is more than enough for me after I've already read the manga, everything else is pretty much just bonus material.
