My "kaioken-is-additive" theory.

I'm pretty sure AT had in mind more something like...

Goku (1x kaioken): 12.000
Initial Vegeta: 12.000
Goku (2x kaioken): 16.000
FP Vegeta: 18.000
It doesn't matter though. The narrator says the Kaioken doubled his power so it's moot.

Because AT is sloppy and didn't give it much thought. But I'm pretty sure a 12k-18k gap is more like what he had in mind.
He's overruled by his own in-universe logic here though. There's no escape.

I mean, Kaioken x2 Goku vs Vegeta looked no worse than Vegeta vs Zarbon, which was about the same gap.

Vegeta could have been somewhat stronger than 18k, like 19.5k or so. That way, his jump from 16.2k (more or less) to 19.5k would be a noticeable and remarkable one.

Vegeta was barely 18,000 before. Why would he be stronger than 18,000?
