Because Gotenks is still a work in progress and needs more training either in the manga or Kai, I tried to take most of the implications of Gotenks into account but some of them are plainly a mess and makes little sense.

What do you think of Vegeta and "the others" > Gotenks? Personally I can see him being a work in progress, but being weaker than Vegeta nerfs either the kids or fusion by a lot.

It's pretty much a weird quote, we know that Piccolo expected Goten and Trunks to be their last hope even before fusion was a thing and that Goten and Trunks were stronger than A18 who isn't implied that have gotten stronger after the Cell Saga and was heavily implied to be at the same level she was when she was stronger than Goku & Vegeta back then.

I can only make sense of SSJ2 Gohan & Majin Vegeta > Gotenks, whether is to base or SSJ is up to you to decide. Some go to the route that his bio is talking about base Gotenks because of the image but in Freeza bio we see a photo of his first form even after explaining that he was outclassed by SSJ Goku, so it can also mean that only SSJ3 Gotenks was stronger than SSJ2 Majin Vegeta, something which just by reading the manga we know is true.

Regardless, Base Gotenks' Post strength has to be insanely stronger than SSJ2 Majin Vegeta even if Buu's ki is like a lie, because Majin Vegeta's isn't and Goten and Trunks are pretty much aware of his strength and think them fused in base could fight on par with Buu.
