I like the respect you've given the 21st Budokai fighters, specifically Goku and Krillin. Most people act like they made mediocre gains at best when Goku made it clear in the prelims that they had to hold back to avoid killing people. Their gains were monstrous.

Any reason why Yajirobe is weaker than Tambourine?

I also think the gap between Kami and Piccolo is far too low. Piccolo, after unleashing all of his ki into his strongest attack and nearly beaten half to death still had enough power to defeat Kami. Kami also relied on Tenshinhan to kill him rather than just intervene and kill Piccolo which implies that Kami wasn't confident in his power despite how fatigued Piccolo was. Piccolo should literally be many times stronger. The gap between him and Kami is gargantuan compared to the gap between Tao and Goku (Pre-Korin), for instance.

It sounds absurd, but you could honestly multiply 23rd Goku and Piccolo by 10 and it would make sense. The bloating in the 23rd is one of the lesser talked about things in power scaling.

Wtf was AT thinking when he had Piccolo be intimidated by the thought of guys like Kuririn opposing him lol

Kuririn and Yamcha couldn't even keep up with three-eyes' full speed

Would've made more sense if Krillin demonstrated Super-esque gains mid battle and started catching up with Piccolo. Seems like he had no idea how to continually escalate the tournament without going to extremes.

Could've said "If he gets stronger out of nowhere as Son Goku did 3 years ago..." in reference to Galu's out of nowhere Choshinsui gainz, instead he literally just thinks Kuririn and maybe 3 other guys like him will give him trouble

It's as if AT just makes ballpark figures after forgetting 90% of power statements and implications from the prev arc or a few dozen chapters before, hence stupid numbers in the BoZ and BoG, FnF etc.

Why is Bulma a 2? She's weak buy I wouldn't think she's under half of an overweight middle age farmer. I don't usually care for arguing about the fodder characters but surely she is much stronger than the likes of Oolong and Puar.

Ranfan is way too low. It is implied she passed the prelims legitimately.

Silver is too low. Based off Yamcha vs Chun, I don't see Yamcha ever taking Goku off guard.

Bulma is a teenager girl who probably doesn't exercise. The farmer is a grown man and is at least somewhat active with the farmwork.

We have no idea who Ranfan fought or how those fights went down. We only saw her fight Namu and she relied on her feminine charm the entire time. The moment Namu calmed down all it took was a light neck chop to beat her.

Even without his tail, Goku was clearly stronger than Giran. Giran's attacks barely hurt him and he was almost out of it from one punch.

Seeing as Silver's punch didn't even faze Goku, I don't think it matters.

It doesn't mean Goku used full strength. When he defeated Tambourine, Yajirobe swore not to piss him off implying Goku did hold back a bit against him.

Yeah I think it makes the most sense if Goku is somewhere between full match level and full power vs Yajirobe.

Shouldn’t Post Karin Goku be well over 500 since he’s many times stronger? I don’t think 2x and some decimals count as “many times”.

I don’t disagree with you here, but why do you think Chi-Chi > Chaozu and Yajirobe?

Well Goku did learn not to waste movement training under Korin so he surely got stronger in more than one way.

Not much expect she made it past the prelims while they didn't and given the decisiveness of the tournament, I think it tells us she is stronger. Also her defeat was more impressive.

The shockwave fist move Goku used on Chi-Chi shocked Krillin, Yamcha, and Muten Roshi from its sheer power and caught Piccolo's attention (since it was a technique his clan uses) while no one really cared about Chaozu (who was out cold) or Yajirobe.
