I don’t know I’m just not a huge fan of the direction this raid is going. It has good moments but that’s it. Maybe when the arc finishes we will get a good payoff to all of it but right now it doesn’t work me. Tobbi Roppo ended up being garbage, Kid vs Big Mom is one of the most out of place matchups in this whole series, and Yamato being Kaido’s daughter who was never foreshadowed before and all she does is talk about being Oden.

The worst thing for me is that the straw hats didn’t get any focus at all in this, instead the focus was on the scabbards who I didn’t feel were developed well in the slightest. Oda had a chance to do that in the Oden flashback but clearly messed up. Why am I supposed to care about these people? They keep saying how much they care about Oden and I’m just rolling my eyes the whole time because I could care less.

If there’s still a lot more to the arc than all my thoughts could change but so far this arc that’s been built up for hundreds of chapters hasn’t lived up to the hype. I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily bad but just underwhelming.

I agree. The Scabbards were underdeveloped and yet have been a large part of the focus during the raid. Not only that, but their efforts amounted to absolute fuck all, making the time investment even more pointless.

Yamato is the most useless and unnecessary character in the manga that has only cheapened the most advanced form of Haki we've seen yet.

Flying 6 were ass. The Straw Hats only had a mere chapter or so to fight with them, and we never saw them have to develop any new abilities or powers, aside from Robin whose technique wasn't even explained.
