Battle power wise, what other Boo would he be most comparable too? Goku said he and Oob were equals (in base form, I assume). So he came a long way since EoZ.

I don't think Goku improved that much from 5 years since he's aimed was to train Oob how to use his power. Oob is still as strong as Pure Boo.

Well, didn't they train for 5 years in the sub? @Mike maybe can answer that. I don't know why that's coming to my head if it's false, but I do believe there is at least a discrepancy between the sub and dub on that.

Five years is a lot for at least one of them to improve greatly. And Goku mentions going "all out" with Oob in that last battle. Plus, it helps explain why he's so strong in base. :elmo

I don't recall that line about training much. I do remember Goku saying he hasn't been home "in years" so I imagined they stayed at it.

At bare minimum, he's considerably stronger than Mr. Buu.
