I asked before but where are you seeing the Cell Juniors playing around with Vegeta and Trunks? Are you reading some bootlegged fan made manga or something?

The guidebooks mean nothing.

You could still use the guidebook statement be taken into account whilst having it refer to just the Cell during his initial warm up with Goku. It has about as much validity as assuming it was the one who fought Gohan when they're both suppressed versions of Cell, but this stance is actually consistent with the feats presented.
