Right so the anime I'll be watching are as followed-

Bakemonogatari, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Hataraku Maou-sama!, Konosuba, Overlord and Zero no Tsukaima.

There are a couple more I plan on watching as well but I'll leave those for later.

I'm going to watch two episodes of each to test them at first then I'll see which one I plan on watching finished first.

Feel free to say anything about any of the animes I'm going to watch, you can spoil some stuff about them if you want to for whatever as long as it isn't like a huge plot twist or something.

Zero no Tsukaima is garbage, I'd watch Bakemonogatari and FMA: B.

Having watched some bits of Zero No Tsukaima, I confirm that it's absolute garbage. It's little more than your average harem show, with every single one overused gags in it overshadowing the little story it has (not that the story was all that good), and each the characters are generic and uninteresting (some of them are downright unlikable). Don't watch this, ever.

But yes, you SHOULD watch FMA: Brotherhood.

FMA:B is the only real worthwhile one. Maybe Bakemonogatari if looking for just entertainment. The rest are all pretty run of the mill, with The Familiar of Zero definitely being the most :trash of the bunch.

Right so far I've watched two episodes each of Bakemonogatari, Hataraku Maou-sama! and Overlord.

Bakemonogatari was actually kind of boring but I won't count it out just yet, I will however put it on the back burner for the time being. Maou and Overlord are both okay so far I suppose, nothing special though.

Just finished up watching the first two episodes of Brotherhood, seems fairly interesting enough already. I was honestly expecting things to go wrong in episode two but everything worked out just fine and went exactly how the characters wanted it to go.

:nice

The first half dozen episodes or so are pretty weak, but it qill pick up after that. Just stick with it through the boring stretch.

If I managed to get through the first 20 boring AF HxH episodes to get to the only good arc I'm sure I can handle a dozen episodes of FMA.

:giraffe

So I watched a bit of Zero and it doesn't seem so bad, but maybe it takes more than two episodes for the :trash stuff to happen?

Watched two episodes of Konosuba as well and I like it so far, it reminds me of final fantasy tactics, especially with the music that was playing in the last part of the first episode.

So I finished off the first season of Overlord and it was decent? It wasn't bad but it wasn't exactly good either so yeah, I guess I'll go with decent.

And I think this is the first anime I've watched an entire season of without having a favorite character, all of the characters were just sort of okay imo.

It's alright. I get the feeling you wouldn't like it but I could be wrong.

I'm up to episode eight of brotherhood now and it's so-so.

A question I have about it is does it ever stop trying to be funny? Because it really isn't. :giraffe

As far as objective quality of writing goes, not really, but the first season is still passable in terms of entertainment value. Season 2 and onwards is :trash

The comic relief scenes continue for a while and as a whole don't get better, but it lessens the more the series goes on and isn't used in tandem with an overly serious scene to the point of being immersion breaking, unlike most modern Shonen.

So I dropped Hataraku Maou-sama! at episode 6. The first episode made it seem interesting but it got pretty boring and generic rather quickly.

Got to episode 6 of Konosuba and it's pretty good. Probably my favorite out of the things I've been watching.

As for FMA I got to episode 14 and I'm still finding it to be pretty meh.
