Yeah, I'm watching Brotherhood. A friend of mine told me that I should watch at least until episode 20 and if I still don't like it by then I should probably just drop it, does that sound about right?

I would say 30 tbh. I checked the episode guide, and there were some solid episodes in the 20s. If you aren’t feeling like committing to it I understand, but FMA really does take a long time to build and get going..

For now I think I'll just watch more of the other anime on my list and then come back to FMA later.

Well that takes care of that, I finished off the first season of Konosuba and I dropped Zero at episode 6.

Overlord: Finished Season 1. It was okay, not good and not bad. Just okay. I could see it being more entertaining for people who usually watch this type of anime. I'm not sure if I'm going to watch season 2 of it or not, I might if I ever find myself looking for more anime to watch.

Konosuba: Finished Season 1. I enjoyed it, it had my kind of humor in it and it reminded me a lot of final fantasy tactics which is a game I used to play a lot. I'll definitely be watching the next season at some point.

Bakemonogatari: I only watched 2 episodes of this and I found them to be seriously boring, but since I've only watched 2 episodes it probably isn't fair to drop it already so I'll probably watch some more of it eventually.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood: I've watched 14 episodes of it and it's not bad or anything but I just really can't seem to get into it. A couple of people have said it takes pretty long to get interesting so I might come back to it later.

Hataraku Maou-sama!: Watched 6 episodes of this, the first episode made me think it would be interesting and the second episode was alright but after that I lost interest in it pretty quickly so I dropped it.

Zero no Tsukaima: Like with Maou I watched 6 episodes and then dropped it. Not because it was bad, not saying it wasn't bad, but because I just really didn't like the main female character. :giraffe

The next few anime I want to start watching would be Noragami, Shokugeki no souma and Part 2 of JoJo's.

if bakemonogatari's style didn't sit right with you at the start then you prolly won't get into it but yeah give it another ep or two maybe then just drop

Best not to watch Season 2 if you didn't think Season 1 was solid. The 2nd season is a complete tonal shift that focuses on uncharismatic side characters in an attempt to try and further its world building, despite the choice going poorly with the first season just being a dumb fun power fantasy. In other words, it takes away whatever reason there was to watch the original.

Bakemonogatari: I only watched 2 episodes of this and I found them to be seriously boring, but since I've only watched 2 episodes it probably isn't fair to drop it already so I'll probably watch some more of it eventually.
All it really has going for it is interesting puns/play on words and interesting visuals, so if the stylistic elements aren't doing anything for you, a few more episodes isn't going to help.

Just watch the 4th opening "Renai Circulation" for the catchy tune and meme factor and leave it at that (and maybe the Nisemonogatari OP 3 "Platinum Disco" for the same reason).

So are all the parts of Monogatari basically the same or are some more entertaining that others?

A friend recommended it but the main reason I wanted to watch it was because a certain scene involving a toothbrush. :manabu

Pretty much. All of them are basically a very stylistic harem series getting by just by things such as fancy dialogue and visuals, with not much else that would stand out if taking away the superficial elements. Also, Bakemonogatari is generally considered the best of the bunch and after that, they tend to be more of the same.

The toothbrush scene is entertaining, though as far as watching entertaining, bizarre stuff for the memes, JoJo does the job better. :CC

bake or monogatari second season is usually considered best (maybe certain demographics tend to prefer one and vice versa), the latter probably has cooler supernatural stuff but it's a lot of commitment to get to that point and at its core it's the same style anyway so w/e

toothbrush scene is in nisemonogatari which is the second entry

Really but not really. The humor does takes a backseat starting from episode 17 or so, when the homunculi are starting to become prominent.

So I finally got around to watching the first episode of JoJo part 2 and I gotta say I already find it more interesting than Parts 1, 5 and 6. Although to be fair it might be mainly do to the fact that I prefer anime to manga.

Part 2 is the best part out of the ones I've read.
