I think the gap between Goku and Vegeta (pre-Rosat) is only somewhat smaller than the gap between SSJ2 Gohan CG and SSJ2 Goku (Boo). Piccolo expressed some uncertainty saying that Vegeta surpassed Gohan, and even Vegeta himself doesn't insinuate there's a good difference. By comparison PM Vegeta is weak enough that he'd lose to Galu no contest.

Yeah but this doesn't imply Vegeta is much weaker than Gohan. Something like this could easily work:

Goku boo : 100
Gohan CG : 90
Vegeta PM : 81

Vegeta also says he failed to close the gap between Goku and himself from 7 years ago by too much, so I doubt it's a rival-rival-weaker rival situation like Vegeta-Goku-Trunks in the android arc. If he's holding Kid Gohan from the CG as a power that when reached or surpassed, would make his own powa look like shit, I doubt he's as powerful as Cell.

A 81/100 isn't even a distant rivals gap, seeing Vegeta completely trashed Dodoria with a similar gap. Vegeta's line also doesn't have to mean the gap between his pre Majin self and Boo saga Goku was the same as in the Cell Games, it could be interpreted as still existing a difference between their powers. SPC wasn't quite there with SSJ2 kid Gohan either, with the latter's power still being used as a measuring stick in the Boo saga.

Vegeta-Goku-Trunks gaps in the Androids saga are more like 100-95-88 imo.

Vegeta judged Goku's power glimpse as already above his own by a good amount despite only "suspecting" the full extent of it would be above Kid Gohan, so I think he wouldn't be all that near Kid Gohan compared to SPC imo. SPC at least imagined he had a good shot of winning, so he'd be nearer. I'm not saying SPC would win by a mile, but he does seem closer to Goku and CG Gohan than Vegeta.

Well, Goku's SSJ2 power burst doesn't necessarily have to be > pre Majin Vegeta, since the latter knew that this power wasn't Goku's full ("show me the fruits of your training in the other world").

Super Perfect Cell = SSj2 Kid Gohan imo, so SPC takes it with moderate difficulty.

He said he immediately realized he didn't catch up to Goku at all. The glimpse alone seems to be > Vegeta considering that, especially when Vegeta hated the thought of resorting to Babidi's help to get as strong yet did so anyway.

The difference between SSj2 majin Vegeta and SSj2 Kid Gohan is almost impossible to sense, and since i have Super Perfect Cell pretty much exactly as strong as FP Gohan, i think there's no way Vegeta is winning this.
Imo of course.

That could be explained by him knowing Goku's burst isn't his full power. Vegeta even said to Goku show him the fruits of his training. Vegeta resorted to Babidi's trick because he feel surpassed, it doesn't matter the amount imo.

In character with Vegeta's arrogance I doubt sensing a power not above his would get him to feel so surpassed, since it took Cell tanking his kick to the neck for him to realize he was outclassed.

Where would you have Cell Games Goku? At Boo Gohan SSJ1?
