It isn't, though the gap between the two is indeed overblown by the fanbase, considering the presentation both before and during the fight presents Gotenks' transformation into SSJ as nowhere close to needing a 50x gap between the forms.

The Kaioshins don't have a regular effect on Boo. Dai Kaioshin weakened Boo, rather than just making him more controllable. Since South Kaioshin's focus was on strength, it's possible that he multiplied Boo's strength, rather than just adding to it.

The gap doesn't need to be hundreds of times, 10x can be enough.

Other statements regarding to Gotenks's strength were contradicted by his feats. So I don't think Gotenks has surpassed Goku until he turn into SSjin3 since Goku is weaker than Super Boo who is at best as strong as SSjin3 Gotenks.

That's one of the things that BP/PL Purists tried to cover up Pure Boo's absorbing Southern Kaioshin but only Dai Kaioshin was said to have weakened Boo because of his nature which doesn't have anything to do with strength. Southern Kaioshin power was only added to Pure Boo's strength which is normally how most of his absorptions work.

If you disregard the official SSj multipliers and look at the story from that perspective, then yes, SSj3 Gotenks might not be even 2x Goku. But using those multipliers, Gotenks is more than 8x stronger than Innocent Boo, (As SSj Gotenks post is > Innocent Boo) which makes Gotenks being manyfold Goku unavoidable.

That statement is doubtful considering that Goku never told Boo about that and even if he did, the only reason why he told that was to give Boo an excitement to look forward for so he wouldn't destroy the Earth until the kids master the fusion.

He can at least hide his chances of winning, as him saying "I can't beat Buu" seems to be more about the stamina gap between him and Buu than the power gap itself, while Gotenks was a sure win. Piccolo also confirmed it.

For all we know, they could've been close in power. He killed the West and North Kaioshin's immediately, so South Kaioshin had to do something far different than those 2 to even get absorbed.

Piccolo indeed knew that Goku can beat Boo no problem and as we saw, Goku was trying to give everyone a hope where they wouldn't need him against Boo. Why would Goku lied to Piccolo about his chances against Boo? Doesn't make sense other than he wants the kids to be the new hero therefore he wants Piccolo to trust the kids as well.

I can agree with this, even if South Kaioshin is equal to Pure Boo, then that would make Goku at least less than 2x weaker than the mid tiers of Boo arc which mean he's stronger than SSjin Gotenks.
