Serial Experiments Lain - 7/10
It keeps you thinking, and in some instances, re-evaluating what you previously concluded. There was enough variance for the audience to form interpretations, while giving clarity on the foundational elements it was going for along the way. Some of the earlier themes showed allegory to being behind the times, fear of missing out, and the curiosity and risks of extremely advanced technology. It later digs into the theme of sacrifice, and dormant power. Something that could have made it better is if Lain had more conversations with people in different science & tech fields, for more insight regarding the perspectives of Wired - the people she usually spoke to were kind of limited in their understanding and view of the Network. Also, the Knights plot was a little too hyped for the amount of focus it got and how it played out.
