In universe it would make no sense at all. Regardless of what Akira Toriyama "felt" like the Super Saiyan boost was I don't think it was ever less than 50x. I don't see anything in the story that keeps it from working either.

@Six Trails Do you think it could work for GT?

We know of the Rilldo statement that implies a decrease, but interestingly, the GT Perfect Files still bring up the 50x SSJ multiplier.
